We stayed here for 3 nights in early June. The weather was unusually cold, so the heating was on & the pool not open. However, we were given a warm welcome by Beatrice & a tour of the available rooms. The hotel is small & friendly. The breakfast was great. We met fellow guests there & found lots of information... We stayed at Villa Moorings last October as part of our 2nd visit to Italy. We were visting at the end of their season but they could have not been more welcoming and accomodating. We enjoyed visiting with Beatrice in front of the fireplace to hear the history Villa Moorings, wonderful travel experience! The hotel is close to town, easy... More

We spent 4 nights here in August and had a lovely stay. The hotel is very comfortable with a really nice swimming pool and sun area. The interior of the hotel and the rooms are beautiful. We had a balcony which was beautiful for sitting out on and relaxing at the end of the day. The hotel is an ideal... More

We spent 3 nights in this beautiful villa which is family run. It has original decor with beautiful views of the mountains. We stayed in a suite of 2 bedrooms and sharing bathroom. Very clean. It is located on the edge of the town of Barga, walking distance into the town. The hotel owners couldn't be more helpful, they even... More

We spent 2 nights in this beautiful house. Before I went I had read about its history and it was good to see that it was still in the family. The interior is amazing and as soon as you enter the hall you feel at home. We had a junior suite which still had the original furniture in it so... More

The three nights in June we spent at the Villa Moorings were delightful. The villa itself is an architectural treasure in the 'Liberty' style with many original furnishings to a very high standard. To stay here is to live briefly in an up-scale art deco villa, an easy 10 minute walk into the center of the old town of Barga... More

Four of us stayed at Villa Moorings for two nights this spring. We loved our stay. I would not call it a luxury hotel, but it is way more than your typical three star hotel in a small Italian village. We had two junior suites that were incredibly cool. Full of vintage furniture. The building is old, but well cared... More

What a wonderful surprise Villa Moorings was. We had Nonno Lui's room (the man who built the house) and it was a real gem. Some reviewers have complained about the place not being "up to date", well, not everything new is better. Old antiques have their charm and the owner was a lovely and very helpful woman. We really enjoyed... More

We recently spent 3 nights at Villa Moorings Hotel and highly recommend that you give it a try. Here are some reasons why: - Grand style of the hotel, including gloriously painted ceilings and antique furniture - We stayed in a Junior Suite, which is more expensive but you get SO much for your money - big airy room with... We stopped here for 2 nights in early May. This is a large family villa converted to an hotel. The rooms are spacious and very tastefully decorated and furnished. There is plenty of room for parking (free) in the hotel grounds. The historic centre and some excellent restaurants are an easy 5-10 minute walk. There is a large swimming pool,... More
