My husband and I had the pleasure of staying at Villa Moorings for a week recently and truly enjoyed our time there. The bed was comfortable, the facilities adequate and the hosts outstanding. Beatrice and Anna Rosa went out of their way to make sure we were comfortable and had a good time in Barga. The hotel is a slowly-to-be-renovated... More

My family were all in Barga for a wedding. Villa moorings Hotel was the most perfect hotel. It has so much atmosphere and makes you feel you have gone back in time to a luxurious Italian Villa!! All the staff treated us like one of their family and nothing we asked for was to much trouble. Just loved it so... More

Our trip to Barga was undoubtedly one of the highlights of our recent Italy trip. The drive from Pisa through the mountains was twisty but exciting! on arrival at Villa Moorings we were greeted with a bottle of complimentary Prosecco and snacks on the terrace, an unexpected treat from owner Beatrice and her excellent side kick Ana Rosa( my colleague... We stayed in the family room on the second floor (we in the US would call this the third floor) and it was perfect for me and my two adult children! Our hostesses could not have been more kind and accommodating and we loved the open patio in the tower! Beautiful views and welcome privacy for each of us. The... More

We stayed 3 nights in the Villa Moorings. IT is a wonderful villa just outside the old town of Barga. The hotel has been maintained in the style of a villa with the grand staircase leading to the bedrooms and the rather grand entrance into the hotel itself. Our room was extremely comfortable, furnished well with good views and a... More

We stayed for 4 nights in July and really enjoyed the experience- the room was first class and we made good use of the swimming pool - breakfasts were superb - furnishings and décor are very tasteful - however what really separates this hotel from others is Beatrice and Anna-Rosa who run the Villa Moorings - they are warm, friendly,helpful... We returned to Villa Moorings again this year. This gave us an opportunity to re-visit with Beatrice & Anna Rosa who run everything, Beatrice being the owner. We experienced the same warm welcome and good breakfasts. On this occasion we were able to introduce out Italian friends to the Garfagna valley. We enjoyed the same excellent restaurants in the old... More

We stayed here for 3 nights in early June. The weather was unusually cold, so the heating was on & the pool not open. However, we were given a warm welcome by Beatrice & a tour of the available rooms. The hotel is small & friendly. The breakfast was great. We met fellow guests there & found lots of information... We stayed at Villa Moorings last October as part of our 2nd visit to Italy. We were visting at the end of their season but they could have not been more welcoming and accomodating. We spent 4 nights here in August and had a lovely stay. The hotel is very comfortable with a really nice swimming pool and sun area. The interior of the hotel and the rooms are beautiful. We had a balcony which was beautiful for sitting out on and relaxing at the end of the day. The hotel is an ideal... More
