We were delighted with our week at Casa Fontana. Ron and Susie were wonderful hosts and went out of their way to make us feel comfortable, including pointing us towards 'dog-free' walks in the countryside around Barga. We had the plum room which was, truely, a plum room. The views were breathtaking and each morning we would wake up to... More

We were delighted with the setting, facilities and atmosphere of Casa Fontana, an imaginatively renovated villa retaining most of its original charming features. The breakfast room in the basement was a great venue to start the day with guests all seated at a large chestnut wood table. The friendly atmosphere provided by Ron and Susi ensured that conversation flowed easily.... More

We just returned from nearly two weeks traveling in Italy. The highlight of our holiday was our stay at Casa Fontana. Owners Ron and Susi could not have been more kind and gracious in making sure our stay was a pleasant and relaxing one. They gave us a taste of authentic Italy--away from the sometimes stressful pursuits found in the... More

If in Tuscany, stay with Ron and Susi at Casa Fontana in beautiful Barga. Within easy travelling distance from Lucca, Pisa and Florence, this traditional Tuscan house provides wonderful accommodation from crisp white bedding on the most comfortable beds to a delicious buffet breakfast of local produce in the Cantina. this place is kind of hard to get to, had to take a train from Florence, and transfer to another old one to take us up the mountain. and then hire a cab to the old area of Barga. once you get there you have to drag your luggage to the hotel, as the streets are way to narrow for... More

Casa Fontana is a beautiful village home with incredible views of village and mountains. Our hosts Ron and Susie made us feel so welcomed. The rooms were on the second floor with stairs no elevator . The rooms were very spacious with lovely ensure bathrooms. We had a lovely patio overlooking the secluded gardens of Casa Fontana , where could... More

Our stay at Casa Fontana was terrific for a number of reasons. First of all the hosts Ron and Suzy could not have been more welcoming, helpful and great fountains of information. The rooms are cozy and very well equipped. Be aware there are stairs, but for our three couples it was not a problem. Also be aware that there... More

We were a last minute arrival at Casa Fontana -- and oh what a lucky find! Beautiful Tuscan village house with breathtaking views of the valley all around you, but located in the central part of beautiful Barga which is home to some of the most characterful and exceptional restaurants and cafes we have come across in our travels -... I loved staying at Casa Fontana, it was really clean and tidy and there was everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was fantastic and Ron and Suzi were really helpful in giving advice and inviting us to the opera and a gallery opening that happened while we were there. This hotel is very welcoming and really is... More

Just back from a brilliant week's walking holiday based in Barga and cannot recommend Casa Fontana highly enough. Our room was simple, spacious, bright and clean, with nice touches like a fresh bunch of lavender (from the lovely garden) on the pillow every night. Great location and fantastic views over the town and hills. Gorgeous breakfast with lots of fresh... More
