We stayed 6 nights and were very impressed. Bev and Hilton were very hospitable, helpful, friendly, informative and very good company. The self-contained "flat" was extremely comfortable, and the breakfasts were delicious and healthy including the wonderful home-made preserves and muesli - with ingredients coming from the beautiful garden. Exceptional attention to detail and meticulously clean. No hesitation in recommending... More

We stayed two nights at Fothergills in their B&B, two adults and two children. On arrival we were welcomed by Bev and Hilton, they are so warm and friendly, you will love them straight away! We all did. Within an hour of arriving we were sipping champange and eating nibbles with Bev and Hilton and the guests from the cottage.... More

We have just spent three nights at this great little self-catering spot on the Bay of Plenty coast. Our hosts (Bev & Hilton) have run the place for man years and their love for the property and area are obvious. Their welcome was very warm - and the self-catering cottage (just a short walk from their own home @ B&B)... More

Homely property in a beautiful valley a short drive from Whakatane, and an even shorter drive (or walk if feeling energetic) to the typically wild coast in New Zealand. Bev & Hilton were very welcoming - and little homemade pantry items were a nice touch (especially the preserved plums and homemade jams). Good value, and nice to just wander the... More

This was a truely wonderful place to stay. We stayed in the cottage with 2 children. It was very roomy with all the home comforts eg. home made biscuits(cookies) yogurt and jam, jellybeans for the children. The place was very warm with an excellent shower and outlook. I thoroughly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed. Bev and Hilton... More

What a wonderful place to stay - Bev and Hilton are the most welcoming of hosts, nothing is too much trouble. They ensure your stay is comfortable and enjoyable. Bev makes the most amazing home preserves. The cottage - Mimiha is home from home, very well appointed. Comfortable beds, spacious area, peaceful. Bev and Hilton will provide your meals, or... More

Look no further, this place is absolutely perfect!! My boyfriend and I stayed in the Mimiha Cottage for close to a week, and I have to say, it was the most relaxing week we have spent in our three months in New Zealand. Such an amazing find that we stumbled upon, this place is definitely worth visiting. A brilliant location right near the beach and set in the most amazing gardens that owner Bev tends to. The room was lovely and bright with everything you could need and the breakfast was seriously yummy, with fruit and vegetables taken from the garden - such... More

Hosts were wonderful, gave us freshly picked produce and fruit from their garden. Cottage was exceptionally well equipped, centrally located between whakatane and tauranga. Lovely beach for walking, not swimming, just a minutes drive. The kids loved tinkerbell the pig and max and mo the dogs.
