We stayed here for four nights in April in 'The Studio' unit and can't recommend it enough. The location was great, just ten minutes walk down the hill to Coromandel Town but felt really secluded and tucked away. The hosts (especially Ray) were helpful and welcoming, the deck out the front was great to relax on at the end of... More

We stayed here overnight at The Studio. All we needed was a bed and a shower so we didn't take advantage of the kitchen or ammenities but it was very comfortable and surprisingly spacious. The grounds are lovely and Genevieve was very helpful.

We stayed 3 nights in mid April over a long weekend. Genevieve, one of the owners, made us feel very comfortable and apologized profusely because we had booked 3 nights for the Chalet and had to spend one night in the Studio. We found the Studio was very spacious and perfect for our needs anyway, and they helped us move our... More

Ray and Generveve were great hosts, full of local knowledge and great tips on things to do. Do yourself a favor and ask to check out the studio as they are both artists. The cabin was a beautiful haven with a view surrounded by ferns. Very inspiring place. Lovely to watch the bird life too. The only place we have... More

We stayed in the Studio for two nights and felt as if we were completely on our own in the bush it was so secluded. The accommodation was spotless, comfortable and well equipped and we’d certainly stay again if we manage to return to Coromandel. Gen’s Dad loaned us his own copy of Barry Brickell’s book in preparation for our... More

Fern lodge in coromandel town is simply devine. A great selection of accomadation. Fully self contained in a beautiful setting nestled in the bush. Sit out side a gaze at the stars. Ponder life , love and the future away from the numerous distractions of city life. 4 days here I left recharged and revitalised. Easy to get too from... More

I had the Cabin at Fern, which was on the top of the hill in the outskirts of Coromandel. It is a cute little room with big veranda, surrounded by tree ferns. You can see the sunset from the veranda. I found it surprisingly nice, did not expect this based on the pictures. The room is well equiped with shower,... More

I can't recommend Fern Lodge enough - we've stayed there on 3 occasions in different lodgings, the Cabin, the Studio and the Treehouse. Just an amazing experience. The owners go the extra mile making sure the place is clean and tidy and making us feel very welcome. They give great advice on things to do around the area, lots of... More

The property is up hill with good views and an away from it all, rustic feel. We were two couples with one teen, renting the three bedroom chalet. We loved the place and the experience. Add lighting in the bedrooms and we would give it the fifth star...and shampoo would be nice...and shower water pressure.

This is a really nice place, situated on the side of a hill giving you a fantastic view of the bay. We are staying in the chalet, which is very spacious. Has everything you need, although simple it is more than enough. The owners are very accommodating and friendly. One of the other positives with Fern Lodge is that they... More
