I wish I could take the lovely girl who checked us in, and the lovely pair of housekeepers somewhere else. They were the highlight. We had to pay $5 a day for internet that didn't work, we told off by an extremely rude man for being "too loud" saying goodnight to people nowhere near the rooms (we were not loud... More

As the manager of Anchor Lodge it is my duty to make sure everyone has a comfortable stay while they are here. I will not hesitate to ask people nicely (which is what I did) to keep the noise down if it is late at night and the noise is excessive. In this case you arrived back from dinner around... More

Stayed for just one night in a standalone unit, which was really beautiful and comfortable, with welcoming staff and lots of space. The lodge doesn't provide free wifi, but it wasn't much of an issue as we were there to explore the surroundings all day, and the stay was almost perfect. The pnly issue that came to darken the whole... More

I was in the backpackers, which you would expect to be spare, but it was rather too bare bones for the price, and the common room and especially the bathrooms really needed some cleaning. I stayed in several other NZ backpackers which were much cheaper and much cleaner.

Just a one nighter but so glad we chose Anchor Lodge. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was immaculate, with a balcony we could sit out on, including promised harbour views. We visited at a busy holiday time but had a very quiet night. So close to the township with its quaint shops and cafes etc.

Absolutely loved our stay here. Has been done out really nicely and we really enjoyed being so close to Coromandel town as well. Shame the wifi isn't included for free as it was everywhere else we stayed during our trip, but all in a lovely place in beautiful surroundings

A little bit of a late review, but stayed here may 14 for a little weekend getaway. we stayed in a spa unit and it was incredible. The room was spacious, modern, the bed was easy to sleep on and there was a DVD player in the room which was good because it rained the whole time. There was a... More

My husband and I stayed here for a night on December 4th in room (chalet?) 3. Room was clean, bed wasn't bad and location just a short walk to town. We enjoyed the walk recommended by the front desk. Only gripe: No free wi-fi ($5 and a little spotty)

This was our second stay at Anchor Lodge having first stayed 8 years ago when we originally visited New Zealand and we weren't disappointed on on either visit. We stayed in a spa unit which was at the rear of the motel in a small cul de sac with a separate entrance (5 units only round there), it was lovely... More

We stayed for one night on a Coromandel adventure. We were lucky to get a room as nearly sold out. They allocated us a two bedroom unit next to the pool and spa. The room was sparkling clean and the amenities were superb, and has the essential free wifi. As addicted travellers we have stayed in hundreds of motels and... More
