Located at the harbour end of Coromandel, many rooms have great views over the estuary. Well equipped apart from the lack of iron and board - available in the laundry only, clean, but daily servicing is iffy! Beds are not necessarily made, just turned over and unusually for NZ the towels are not changed daily, whatever you do with them!... More

Thanks for your review and great to hear you will be coming back for another stay. As much as we would like to have irons and ironing boards in all 24 rooms, the reason we have an iron and board in the laundry only is it just takes someone to accidentally drop the iron on the carpet and we would... Went to a wedding and many of the family members attending the wedding stayed here. The place was very clean and tidy and had all we needed. Was situated right by the pool which was great as used it during the spare time on hand. They have a large number of units and family units on offer and is walking... More

This was our last stop on a trip to both South & North Islands and in many ways the most disappointing. We were expecting a gem as this was the most expensive place we stayed in. It was OK but not brilliant. Servicing appeared to be done by backpackers and it showed. We left used towels in a pile in... More

We booked this for a week end break and after sorting out a booking error we had a comfortable cabin for. 4 to share. The accomodation was clean and well presented and the 10$ breakfast was very good. Look out for the tree lights they are awesome and we bought some

We had not booked accommodation in Coromandel and drove past several accomodation places before settling on Anchor Lodge. Although more expensive than what we usually paid, we loved the room with the Harbour view, it was spotless, young man who showed us around was friendly and helpful, liked the "feel" of the complex, lovely gardens. Although you had to pay... More

After 3 nights in Auckland paying $250 a night for a tiny hotel room with no built in heating or cooling and the worlds smallest bathroom we were looking for something a little better. We drove to Coromandel Town (through the gorgeous town of Thames) and arrived in search of decent accomodation. What we found, for the same rates as... More

Stayed at the hostel part and was happy with cleanness. The place was cosy and it was great with free tea and coffee and a big selection of free dvd movies to rent. Would have been nice with free wifi.

I wish I could take the lovely girl who checked us in, and the lovely pair of housekeepers somewhere else. They were the highlight. We had to pay $5 a day for internet that didn't work, we told off by an extremely rude man for being "too loud" saying goodnight to people nowhere near the rooms (we were not loud... More

As the manager of Anchor Lodge it is my duty to make sure everyone has a comfortable stay while they are here. I will not hesitate to ask people nicely (which is what I did) to keep the noise down if it is late at night and the noise is excessive. In this case you arrived back from dinner around... More

Stayed for just one night in a standalone unit, which was really beautiful and comfortable, with welcoming staff and lots of space. The lodge doesn't provide free wifi, but it wasn't much of an issue as we were there to explore the surroundings all day, and the stay was almost perfect. The pnly issue that came to darken the whole... More
