We called in on the off chance when we saw the sign at the gate and hoped to get a coffee but were very pleasantly surprised to realise it was a restaurant and we were in time for lunch. We had a friendly welcome from a fellow Brit and took a table in the covered area outside looking over the... More

A long drive on unsealed roads but worth the effort. Rooms are little houses with everything you need, lovely large comfy beds. Quality through out. Beautiful location and great spot to base yourself to walk Coastal Tramp at top of peninsular. The walk up river to the swimming hole is very sweet as well. Check out opens late so be... More

Each of the cottages is really a little house. Clean spacious and packed with all the amenities you would need. Fridge oven and range top as well as all the crockery and eating utensils you would need if you bought your own food which we didn't. Nice bath robes and slippers too, no bath but a nice shower with good... More

A great place to stay to rest and relax. It is indeed a kiwi retreat. Friendly staff. Spa pools are great. Recommend a swim in the waterhole. A reasonably good selection of food on the restaurant menu. They make a good coffee. This area is a great example of an "old NZ" holiday destination - down a few kilometres of... More

but it disappointed in a number of respects. We booked over the internet and I made several calls to the property in advance to check on details like wireless internet, food availability on site etc. Despite being told each time that there was wireless internet available in the lodge, when we got there, the wi-fi (a) was not available in... We apologise for the problems that arose during your stay . Unfortunately a key staff member had a medical emergency on Christmas day and this left us short staffed between Christmas and New Years. This required us to use less experienced staff on front of house and we apologise for any confusion caused by this. The dinner booking process, spa... More

I went there with a colleague for lunch and had the beef burger, it was awesome. The scenery is just fantastic, nature right there next to your table. The meal was great and worth every dollar, compliments to the chef it was more than just a burger. It's a great place to visit when your up in Port Charles.

Stayed last night in a lodge we had never stayed in. Tui lodge. Nice and private with morning sun. We've been here many times and love it. Massage and spas are awesome. Its definitely one of nz's best kept secrets. We love it so much we want to share it with our family and friends so are getting married here... More

Every time we stay here we are so impressed with the impeccable service, the beauty of the place, the remoteness and every thing about it. The staff are fantastic and all ways willing to help. Tangiaro offer so much more than just a stay - a must do!!!! Robbie and Jo Chesham

Have been there three times now - the last visit was for our wedding. Tangiaro is located in the bush of far north Coromandel close to some dramatic beaches. The lodges are large, nicely done and well equipped. Staff is charming and very helpful. Will go back again soon.
