We stayed in the studio unit which is slightly seperated from the main block of other units. Very small/compact, can sleep 3 but I wouldn't recommend it as there is no spare room for suitcases etc. Very clean and tidy, with kitchenette having microwave and bench oven/grill and tea making facilities. We have just spent 2 fabulous nights staying in the studio unit. The unit had everything that we needed. The bed was very comfortable, facilities very good and the hospitality we received from the owners John and Katherine was 100%. We were concerned having read the previous review and already made our reservation in the 2 bedroom unit. The motel is an older style and a bit retro. The unit was spacious and comfortable. We originally booked the studio but upgraded to a one bedoom appartment,well worth it.The fixtures and fittings are somewhat dated or retro depending on how you would look at it.The location,however,is to die for,you are right on the waters edge with patio doors and a decking area to take advantage of the view.Kath & John are delightful and extremely helpful... We stayed three nights at Seaspray, although only intended to stay for one. We loved the location so we decided to stay for the whole time we were on the Coromandel Peninsula. The only downside with that decision was that it took an hour to get anywhere - Coromandel or Whitianga. The owners have kept the motel in its 1960s... More

We stayed for a night at this property and was given the studio separated from the 'old block'. Room facilities were basic but sufficient, no frills. Views out over the Firth of Thames were fantastic, especially during sunset.
