Just spent a lovely weekend in this welcoming hotel; really pleasant, warm staff made all the difference and we were relaxed from the start. Good value, great breakfast and afternoon tea, while the service and quality of food at dinner were both excellent - a fabulous meal. Just one point and nothing to do with the hotel at all. Our second visit was every bit as good as the first. This wonderful building is warm and welcoming, clean and tidy. The staff are very helpful and polite at all times. The food was varied and tasty, we ate in both nights. The bar and lounge areas are comfortable and nice to sit and read or have a drink. Breakfast... More

This is a lovely little hotel with the rooms still set out in a Tudor style. My room was large with a four poster bed which was very comfortable The room also boasted a 42" TV and the bathroom looked as though it had recently been modernised with ceiling mounted shower as well as the normal shower on a hose.... What a lovely hotel! Found it at a really great price, which included breakfast. The hotel was very beautiful and held lots of character. Our room had a bit of a funny smell but it was not a big issue. The only problem I would moan about was that the shower kept going hot and cold. Breakfast was good; plenty... More

We stayed on a Saturday night for one night. The hotel was beautiful. It is slightly tired but that is what you get for staying in a tudor period hotel. The first room we were put in was slightly small so we asked to move and were moved straight away to Lady Jane Grey room. This was lovely. My friend... More

Just returned from a fantastic weekend celebrating our daughter's wedding at this hotel. From the time we arrived on Friday afternoon, the staff could not have been more accommodating - nothing was too much trouble for any of them, from setting up the marquee for the wedding breakfast to helping with packing all of the decorations etc on the Sunday.at... We were in a small four poster room in the courtyard opposite the main hotel. The room was nice but tired. The plumbing was abit strange too, at one point we couldn't get any cold water and the shower was scalding hot and we struggled to change the temperature. We had a groupon voucher which included afternoon tea which was... More

Thank you for commenting on your recent stay at the hotel but I would like to apologize on behalf of all the staff that your visit did not live up to your expectations. For being such an old, listed building, there are always issues that arise (some quite strange, such as the plumbing) but hopefully these are dealt with as... More

Just returned from a lovely night at this hotel. Staff were really friendly and helpful. We stayed in room 22 and the bed was so soft and comfy. Breakfast was gorgeous. Only thing I would say is the website said check in was 2 o'clock but its actually 3 so be aware of this. Will definitely be returning.

We stay in hotels all over the place for business and leisure. The important thing is getting the basics right and fixing anything that inevitably goes wrong from time to time. We booked a room with a four poster bed, a child travel cot and breakfast. We got exactly that when we arrived. A warm, very professional welcome, and help... More
