We booked this inn via booking.com as we had no idea what accommodation was in the area. The photo of the outside was not flattering but those of the inside looked quite nice. The price of £49 per double room including breakfast seemed more than reasonable. We were extremely well looked after, with pleasant staff and a lovely modern ground... More

Stayed here for a night whilst away for work, Room was a good size and the bed was really comfy, if anything the windows could be double glazed due to road traffic but the traffic is much less at night. Bar was really nice with a good choice of beers and also sky sports, Breakfast in the morning was good.... More

My wife and I booked into The Highwayman for an overnight stay, as we were working in the area the following day. The reception promptly handled our arrival and we were shown to a very suitable room which was wonderfully warm. We inquired regarding an evening meal, and were told we could go into the bar/dining area at any time... More

Stayed here for 1 night whilst passing through somerset. Was easy to find with a big car park. Check in was at the bar and was easy and fast and the landlady was very courteous informing us of the meal times. She showed us to our twin room warning us to mind our heads on the way up as there... Our mid-week arrival was at the end of travellers afternoon wake at this pleasant establishment situated on the outskirts of Shepton Mallet. After this raucous introduction, an enjoyable time was spent in the spacious bar with a nice evening meal. Not for very tall people, as the corridor from the bar to your comfortable room is punctuated by several low... More

My friend and I stayed for two nights in October. The reception staff were busy on our arrival, but their eventual assistance was excellent. Our room was clean and tidy, although not large, and our bathroom was great. We were only using it as a base so it was perfect. The breakfast was more that adequate, offering to cook whatever... We stayed at this pub and found the owners really helpful and friendly. They put themselves out for us as we were celebrating our wedding annivarsary. The breakfast was good and the food in the evening was excellent and very filling. We have no complaints about the room - plenty of storage space - and we had two very good... More

Recently stayed three nights here, and found it friendly, warm and comfortable. I only had breakfast in the way of meals....the Landlady was very accommodating and produced delicious porridge followed by full English, very tasty. Ideal place to stay if touring the Mendips.
