Already planning our return visit - The Bowlish House is a good-looking hotel, with a charming welcome from all the staff and the world's most comfortable bed. Morning coffee before the fire was cheerfully arranged so we could entertain guests. Dinner was utterly wonderful. Yes, creaky floors and unclear parking directions, but entirely forgiven!

I spent both Christmas Day and New Year's Eve at Bowlish House and was absolutely delighted on each occasion. The hotel is charming and welcoming and certainly feels like a home away from home! Martin & Len are wonderful hosts who strive to do everything they can to make you feel as comfortable as possible. On each occasion we enjoyed... More

Nice old Georgian House, not enough info provided prior to or at on check in, for example we had driven from London, were very tired and did not understand car parking across the road so parked on the street, also the info in our room I'd breakfast from 8am and we came down at 8am on New Years Day to... Stayed here 12th Dec after visiting Longleat and then travelling to Bath the following day (roughly 30 mins drive from each). Stayed in a very comfortable triple room at the top of the house, had a very good evening meal and then an excellent hearty breakfast. Good value for a triple room in 4 star hotel - will definitely stay... More

We chose to stay here enroute from Salisbury to Glastonbury as I wanted us to stay somewhere nice and outside of touristy throng of Glastonbury. We were met by one of the owners who was charming, friendly and welcoming. He offered us a choice of rooms as it was a quieter night which was very thoughtful of him. The decor... More

A lovely old place with lots of character. The kind of place I would have gone back to for a weekend with my wife. But traveling on business was a nightmare, having booked a table (no time given or asked for - only an arrival time) we arrived before eight, went to our rooms and when one of the party... More

We stayed here for five nights and there are only two words to describe it Absolutely Fabulous! Nothing was too much trouble here and yes, the floors creaked, but who cares! Could have lost myself in this place forever.

Top quality except for creaky floors. What can you expect from a 300 year old house? To make up for that the bedding, linens, towels were plush. Nice parlor and lounge. Comfortable spaces to visit or stay up late. Wifi only worked downstairs. Not in rooms. Excellent food beautifully prepared.

We stayed one night, Thursday 17th September. Managed to get a room late that was cancelled. Enjoyed fabulous service. Terrific quality gourmet evening meal in their restaurant. Slept soundly. Free wifi. We had a room at the top, which was very spacious. Free car park opposite the hotel is a bonus. Beautiful soft towels in bathroom and all the products... More

We stayed here for two nights instead of staying in Bath and I'm so glad we did. The location is ideally placed for visiting Bath or Glastonbury/Wells or even the coast. With only six bedrooms the feel is cosy and intimate and it's lovely to feel a part of the place not a nameless face like in bigger hotels. The... More
