What a fabulous old building, the bar area is welcoming & the food great. The hotel is a tad tired & not the cleanest & the breakfast was a dried up buffet. That said it is still a lovely relaxing place but with a bit of effort & a scrubbing brush could be so much better

We had read some concerning reviews before we went particularly about the family room in the main hotel building. I emailed the manager particularly concerned about the noise from the kitchen early in the morning. To be fair they clearly took these concerns on board as we were not disturbed at all. I totally agree with the positive comments about... More

Be aware, there are some deceptive photos on websites promoting this hotel and judging by the bemusingly contradictory reviews here, all rooms are clearly not to the same standard. Yes, our room (number 11 in the main building) had newish bedcovers and pictures on the wall, giving a reasonable first impression, but below the surface the stay was a catalogue... More

I have just spent 2 nights at the dusthole with my husband and 2 children. We stayed in rooms 4 and 5 which were adjoining with a large bathroom. On arrival we were greeted by jake the owners dog and the place had an instant friendly, relaxed feel. I wanted to state that positive bit before the rest of this... More

We paid for superior rooms and were given the chalet style accommodation which is located around the garden. These are Scandinavian in style and my biggest criticism is that there... More
