Lovely room at back of hotel, very quiet and clean. Evening meal had great menu choice and was very tasty and very friendly staff. Did the walk from the hotel to their sister pub in Dunwich 8.5 miles return over the heathland. Good instructions and very enjoyable. Well worth a try if you are down in the Walberswick area.

Have just returned from this charming friendly and comfortable hotel. Our friends and ourselves visited this hotel to spend a day on our bikes visiting the beautiful villages around this hotel. Our greeting was warm and friendly and we were shown to our rooms that were spotlessly clean, bright and well decorated. The lounge area in the hotel is charming... More

We booked this at very short notice and we appreciated their flexibility even though the weekend was pretty busy. We had to move room after the first night, but this was to our advantage and the friendly staff ensured all our belongings were moved for us. The fact that we extended our stay after the first night probably says it... More

I knew this place would be good when show the room and saw a cafetiere. Too often, the very best places think instant coffee sachets are OK to put in the rooms. Not here, because there was a supply of local coffee merchant Paddy & Scott's excellent coffee for an 'just arrived' brew. Needless the say the room was great,... More

First visit was a Sunday lunch. I only went because I had enquired and been told that dogs were welcome. We walked into the bar together and he was offered a drink, treat and a fuss from the barmaid even before I was asked what I wanted. Excellent character inn with charming staff, good food and real ales. We return... More

Welcoming staff, especially the manager who took great pains to try and befriend our rather grumpy terrier! Lovely room, really quiet, gorgeous white linen bedding, beautiful roll top bath. Room was spotless, must have an amazing team of cleaners, as many people staying, like us, had dogs within them. Ate in the bar, good menu, well cooked food, good service.... More

I stayed in this hotel for three nights while in the area on business. This is a really nice hotel. The room I stayed in was great. Large bedroom, with dressing area and roll top bath. The en-suite was a wet room with great shower. The food was very nice, although I would have preferred greater choice as after three nights... More

What a disappointment, having been told by a few people that this would be a great place to eat we booked an early table. We had a drink at the bar and waited to be seated, after 15 minutes past our booking time I had to ask what was happening. We were then escorted to our table via a chap... More
