We stayed for three nights in freezing weather. The staff were friendly, and spoke adequate English, and were very helpful. Room was clean, & comfortably large, and the bathroom was very clean and everything worked - including really good central heating and hot water. Typical Turkish breakfast on the top floor. Centrally situated, with restaurants and shops to hand. Excellent... More

The Saray exceeded my expectations given the low cost of 55 TL. I was given a free upgrade and so had a much larger room than I had booked. The hotel is spotless throughout, everything worked and the hot water was reliable. The bathroom was small but quite functional. The breakfast was plentiful and typically Turkish (bread, salad, eggs, cheese,... More

We were in Edinre, Turkey, walking from one venue to another when it became clear a 'comfort stop' was called for. I cannot say how highly I regard this hotel in this respect. There was no fuss and bother about having appeared from the street to use their facilities - we were not guests of the hotel but the facilities... More

We came very late to the hotel, very nicely received. Clean and tidy rooms, very friendly staff. A modest breakfast, with stunning views of the Selim Mosque ... Parking u sklopu hotela, sa veoma drskim cuvarom.

Very good hotel - cheap and centrally located. It is in the center of Edirne and near the pedestrian street and Selimiye Cami The room was quiet and comfortable. A perfect end for a day in historical town. On the morning you can enjoy a breakfast on the top floor. Drink your Turkish coffee or Turkish apple tea on the... More

Dirty, smelly, dark, unfriendly staff... We couldn't stay for the second night and got the hell out of there. They can't speak ANY English and don't expect them to help you at all... Avoid this hotel if you have any other choice...

Saray Hotel is a very good place to stay in Edirne. It is cheap, spotlessly clean and the staff are very friendly. The view from the breakfast room is nothing to rave about but the breakfast is OK. The bedroom where I stay was comfortable, the only problem being that the water in the bathroom was tepid rather than hot....

The staff here was nice, although we had a problem communicating. but it is centrally located in Edirne and an easy walk to the main pedestrian mall. The beds -- not so comfy and what is the story with the shower?? No curtain -- so water is everywhere in the bathroom. I just couldn't figure out how to do it.... More

You should certainly go to Edirne if you are interested in Ottoman Turkey. It has three exquisite mosques from slightly different eras with fascinating differences, and one of them Sinan's best work in his own opinion. It also has an Ottoman medical complex (with another mosque, of course) a 15th-c. Salk Institute. "Killiye," it's called, which just means "complex of... More
