Just a place to stay but nothing special. If you have big luggage - better stay somewhere else as there is no lift and very uncomfortable stairs. Room was very cold! I had 2 beds and I took all the linen to cover myself. Owner is very nice. Internal communication could be better - at check out lady didn't know... More

Got a nice newly decorated room with a twin and single bed. Sound proofing is not very good as you can hear your neighbours sneeze. Bed could have used a thicker mattress. Breakfast is OK minus with dispenser juice that does not taste very nice. Restaurant in the first floor is spectacular with great wine list. Staff were friendly.

The hotel is in a small town on the Belgium Dutch boarder near between Ghent Belgium and Terneuzen Netherlands. This is a great hotel to have as a base and go out exploring. I had an over night business stop here as it was situated near one of our suppliers. The hotel has rooms in the main building and then... More

One night business trip. Hotel chosen on internet because of proximity to worksite, however it has turned up trumps. Quaint and old fashioned exterior. You check in via the restaurant. Turns out this is the real gem. One of the best meals I have had in a long time and not overly expensive. You come away from the table thinking... More

We traveled to Sas Van Gent as we were traveling with my mother-in-law in April 2012 and wanted to visit her home town. The rooms were really nice and large, as were the bathrooms. We stayed on the main level of one of the buildings, and my mother-in-law had a room upstairs from us. The hotel's location was convenient and... More

This is an average hotel: it's not bad, but it's not great either. The hotel consists of a collection of buildings scattered in the street. The reception is in the restaurant so if you are not staying in the same building you will have to go outside for a small walk. The rooms are large but a bit of age.... More

Based on previous reviews from trip-advisor members I was more or less prepared what to expect. Stayed there for four days. First of all reception is inside the restaurant. Rooms are scattered opposite the restaurant, next to it and a few meters down the street. They gave me the room located at the left side of the restaurant on the... More

FYI the hotel does not have a lift and some rooms are up some steep flights of stairs. The rooms are pretty large with a nice kitchen area. They are kept in pretty good repair. I personally like rooms 31-34 that are larger and not in the original hotel which is older. They alo provide a pretty nice breakfast every... More

Its a lovely hotel in sleepy Sas Van Gent. The Reception as you have probably read, is in the Restaurant (Bottles) then there are rooms upstairs or in other buildings outside. Breakfast is served behind the restaurant in a nice room. Breakfast was your typical....cereals, pastries, eggs and bacon, cheese and ham, make your own toast, tea, coffee and juices...enough... we were there after 1st january so there was nobody there (on arrival but the next morning) even receptionist. They called and informed us before. We were the only one in the hotel! That was nice. We got the first room. It was too small so the next day we asked for a bigger room and it was arranged. Breakfast... More
