My girlfriend surprised me with a trip to Texel for our anniversary and this was where we stayed. The location is great, you can see the sea from the top floor and it's just a short walk through some nice sand dunes to get there. Texel isn't a huge island so you're set to get to any part of it... We stayed 10 days in June in a Junior Suite. The room was very large but cosy. The view on the dunes was fantastic. Excellent breakfast and dinner. The cleaning could have been better as it took very long and the room was cleaned every day only to a part. All in all we really can recommend this hotel for... More

Texel was my first stop in the Netherlands and this little island and hotel exceeded my expectations. I hope to come back one day. It is one of those places you can have a massage (which was really nice) and chill on a lounge chair (they'll serve you drinks/coffee) or just use it as a base to explore. The main... More

I stayed in a single room 316 with view of the dunes and the sea. The astaff warned me in advance whilst booking that the room was small, but for me it fitted perfectly. I did not miss an airconditioning (just left the window open at night). It is a very relaxing place. The quality of my bed was excellent,... More

Nice hotel close to the dunes in De Koog. Like the interior and the great breakfast buffet. Unfortunately single rooms (here: 216) seem to lack airconditioning. Especially in summer the fan in the room does not provide sufficient cold air. Room relatively small, TV on a shelf in about 2m height. No minibar but hotel offers to bring an empty... More

Room was okay, nothing special with twin beds. Shocked breakfast was €18 per person! We skipped it & had a late lunch instead. Might be the nicest hotel in the area but not comparable to other luxury hotels around Europe for Euro 149 per night. We thought the location was great. Walking distance from the beach & town-center. Staff was... More

This huge hotel has a great atmosphere, good location and great service. The breakfast is fantastic. Real local food and cheeses. Going outside the season has my preference. From Jan-beginning of March and half september till November. Otherwise this hotel is too full and surrounded by camping tourists in the dunes right in front of the hotel. But it is... More

The hotel is nice, relatively close to the beach. Food is good. Room is okay. Wrt the room: Me and my daughter both had a small single bed which was a bit to small for an adult. The room from a design point of view was a bit boring/outdated. To my surprise the breakfast was not included in the room... More

This was our second visit after nearly one and a half year. Our first one was during Eastern 2013. The remarks we made during that visit were not followed up. During this visit we experienced two incidents, but were discussed with the reception and action was taken. Now the positive part of our visit. The arrangement during New Years eve... More

On an island dotted with smaller hotels, Opduin provides an interesting alternative. Rooms are big and well equipped and there is a big restaurant, a nice terrace and bar area. Staff is friendly, and hotel offers a range of services, including wellness/spa. Will come back!
