My family and I use this hotel in the Netherlands as our base (we are British/Dutch but are living abroad), and each and every stay the staff will do their very best to make your stay as comfortable. Rooms are beautiful and ooze class/style. Food is great, although breakfast can be crowded in the weekend. Restaurant 'Vrienden van Jakob' is... More

Stayed here overnight for a special birthday getaway and it was a truly wonderful experience. Let's face it - the Dutch are hardly known for their customer service, but the staff at D&K went above and beyond to make our stay a pleasant one. We were upgraded to a suite, which was larger than most Amsterdam apartments! The enormous bed... More

We went to stay at this lovely castle on 1 Jan. The castle itself is very lovely, and is in a great location for nice walks etc. The room we had, and to be fair we booked a standard room, was fine without being great. The bed was fantastic, but aside from that it missed the element of luxury. Old... More

The good: luxurious but not stuffy, friendly helpful staff, great breakfast, near train station. The bad: the fitness center and sauna are tiny Advice: If you are without a car-you may need to use the train. It is a short walk @ 5 minutes to the Santport Noord statiion--which only has an automated ticket machine which would only take coins... More

I went together with my wife because we wanted to spent some quality time together, as my wife is currently working in Nepal we don't see each other that much and therefore we want to enjoy every minute of it. The hotel has a great location, next to the forrest and close to the beach, it looks nice and the... More

This is a very beautiful old style hotel with class. Whereas a lot of hotels in the Netherlands are rather anonymous, this one has style and service written all over it. The hotel has a new part, which is fully integrated in the hotel, but nicely hidden when viewing it from the outside (you have to be there to see... More

I just got back from a visit to this wonderful estate and I will have to say that it has been nothing but perfect! We got a room in the old building, it was very well decorated which gave it a charming appearance. Unfortunately, the restaurant 'de vrienden van Jacob' was closed, but we had a very good dinner at... More

Have been here a few times on buisness and love it. Would love to go back for pleasure. The one thing that really makes this place stand out is the food and the service. Absolutely faultless!!! Rooms are a good size and if staying in the new part of estate they are great value for money. Never stayed in the... More

A beautiful estate! We had a deluxe room (very comfortable beds) in the old building and it was perfect. We had a fantastic dinner at the Vrienden van Jacob restaurant (michelin star). Would love to visit it again!

Located in a national park (but a Dutch one ie. still flat, but with some forests), and quite difficult to get to despite their hotel map. It is about 30 minutes/20 miles from Amsterdam, but feels like it is much further away, in a good way. Surroundings are tranquil and it was a shame we couldn't explore them more. We... More
