Located in a national park (but a Dutch one ie. still flat, but with some forests), and quite difficult to get to despite their hotel map. It is about 30 minutes/20 miles from Amsterdam, but feels like it is much further away, in a good way. Surroundings are tranquil and it was a shame we couldn't explore them more. We... more

I stayed at the hotel Landgoed Duin & Kruidberg for two nights in December 2005. It is a fantastic 5-star hotel in an historic estate and it is located in the beautiful National Park Zuid Kennemerland. I booked a room in the historical wing and not in the new wing. Duin & Kruidberg is the ideal country home with a stately feel. Though our room was located in the newest section of the hotel we still enjoyed the ambiance. The room itself was clean, spacious and had two bathrooms, one with a shower and one without. However, one did have to be careful in the shower, as the water did... more
