I can say that I enjoyed my 1 night stay in this Hotel last August 2014 as part of our Coach Tour. The place is a short distance from Amsterdam but I did not mind travelling as the view is great. There is a traditional village nearby which has a Marina and quaint little shops - walking in the streets... More

We visited this hotel as part of a coach tour so we had no choice but to stay there. Had we read the reviews, it would not have been our top choice. The buildings are massive and I think the sheer size may have gotten away from the owners/managers. Our room was horrifically dirty - spider webs (with live spiders)... More

I agree with previous reviewers, the Lake Land is a basic stop off for a touring holiday in the Amsterdam area. The food was absolutely adequate and plentiful especially the breakfasts. I would like to add that the fresh fluffy towels were a bonus and the little souvenir bag and postcard were a nice touch too. I stayed there for... More

Lovely hotel with friendly staff, found food a bit basic but edible. I would visit again and recommend it to others. Stayed 1 September to 5 September 2014. Monnickendam is a lovely village with bars and restaurants and buses to Amsterdam, Edam, Zaanse Schans etc are just a short walk from the hotel. Bike hire is also available but they... More

We stayed here for 4 nights from Monday 25th August-Friday 29th August. We arrived at 8.00pm and went straight in for our meal. The food was ok, but very basic. Usually soup for starters, which tasted the same each night regardless of what it was, followed by a buffet style meal which consisted of 2 main meals and then vegetables... More

This hotel is popular with coach companies and so works to a budget. The food reflected this; ok and a buffet so you can get what you want but not good. I was particularly annoyed with dessert; A cheap supermarket plain ice cream with canned peaches (day 1) Pineapples (day2) and custard (day 3). There was also no choice as... More

We didn't arrive until 10.30pm at this lovely hotel, straight away the hotel manager Casper came onto our bus and told us there was soup, hot rolls and melon all ready for us which was very welcoming ( It was tomato and meatball soup that night though so my vegetarian daughter couldnt eat it) Free drinks from 8 till 11... We stayed here two nights. We had to sleep with the our room stank so we had the window open & screen door closed (risking our security). We didn't ask for another room because we were with a tour group. Otherwise you can see they are busy with improvements. Bathroom is nice and they just did the fire safety installations.... More

We stayed here for 3 nights during a coach holiday from South Wales. We had been travelling since 3.45am and arrived here at 8pm. The coach company had an arrangement with the hotel to supply a late evening meal and this was most welcome after a long journey. We had about 1/2 an hour to freshen up. The rooms were... More
