We stayed here in july for two nights with my mother and an aunt the hotel is huge and you need a map to find your room, room is excellent, nice bathroom comfy bed , flat screen t.v. And balcony. Breakfast is excellent something for everyone, but as my mother and aunt are in there 80's the walk to the... More

While the location is nice for touring adjacent sites the facility is poor. Through the thin walls I could hear the conversation ,coughing and snoring of the next door guests. It also is a large hotel with an indoor pool making it a destination for families and/or parties like weddings. Our deck was littered -complete with used/dirty ashtray and the... More

Caveat: read my other reviews - I often (more than 80% of the time) give 4-5 star ratings. So, why a TWO? First Impressions: Long slooooow line at reception. Receptionists unclear on the concept of service. Poor employee training. Second impression: After totally unhelpful & vague directions to our room ("it's around the back in the second building") we walked... More

I stayed here on mulitple occasions, and have never been deceived. Spacious rooms, large bathroom, good restaurant, friendly staff. The only negative is the poor sound isolation. You have to hope that you have no noisy neighbours, or party people in the corridors.

Stayed in Deluxe room with good bed and nice large shower. Flat TV screen and free wifi. Service was ok and staff friendly, but i got the feeling that they could be more attentive to the customers. Breakfast had a good choice and good quality. For business this is a good place to stay, very convenient next to the highway.... More

We stayed here over New Year,( not the first time.) Our rooms were very comfortable and clean. Dinner was delicious and the staff very friendly and patient even though they were to close early that evening. The bar was open till late and their was a good party feeling. A glass of champagne from the hotel at midnight but no... More

The Hotel offers a pleasant stay for business: rooms very large and confortable, front desk assistance very efficient, breakfast with very large choice and quality. Also the restaurant is good. In my opinion the restaurant should be improved with more typical Dutch plates. Food is good but it list is composed mainly by international plates. Beautiful swimming pool if you... More

In comparison to other hotels in the area (including Alkmaar and the coast), this is probably one of the best. And I have started to return more often, and I feel comfortable here, so it is not all bad. And the single-biggest issue that prevents me giving 4 stars - when compared in the context of the Netherlands - is... More

I stayed at the Van der Valk, Akersloot overnight prior to an all day business meeting the following day. The hotel is beside the A9 motorway, with a motorway exit adjacent and is only 25 minutes by taxi from Schipol. You can get the train from Schipol to Uitgeest (change at Slotterdijk) and then a cab, which is cheaper, but... More

This is a great hotel if you don't mind staying away from the normal tourist places. Amsterdam and Alkmaar are only small train ride away if you do want to go to the bigger tourist towns. The rooms were very nice and clean. One thing I wish I knew before I got there is that they some theme rooms, of... More
