The hotel has a genuine problem with smells. the shared areas smell musty, stale and of tobacco. The first room we were shown was minuscule and painted dark purple throughout which accentuated the feeling of claustrophobia. The bedspread as stained in three places. The paint was 'bubbling' over damp plaster in one area of the room and falling to the... More

In a 4-star hotel I expect air conditioning or at least screens in the rooms. Room was small, dark green painted, it was musty and the carpet, bedspreads and curtains were stained. The rooms could use an update! After complaining we got another room: the bridal suite. This 'suite' was ok, but also in this room stained carpet, stained bedspreads,... More

Online, the hotel is called Castle Erenstein, but the castle is in reality across the street. Ok, no biggie...but it wasn't all we anticipated it to be. We booked on expedia, and called ahead one day, and they didn't have our reservation. So that took a while to sort out. When we checked in, we were given a gross, dirty... More

I booked online the Culinair @ Erenstain package plus few extras like the VIP treatment, flowers and the beauty treatment, for which I paid nearly 500 eur. What was my expectation? In the normal experience the flowers should have been expecting us in the room. After this we were supposed to take a relaxing bath with the oils before the... More

I’m quite surprised of the very negative remark of NY Traveller. Of course it is dated 2005 that is already 3 years from now and things can change. The hotel is situated in a green area (park) and belongs to Castel Erenstein, situated a few 100 meters further. There is a main road of course, but is certainly not a... More

After viewing the fabulous website for this hotel, we thought we were in for a special experience in the countryside of Limburg province last September. Instead we found less than friendly service, a smoky room, Scottish-themed carpeting and upholstery with English hunting prints. Hardly a charming Dutch country inn. Also, the hotel was located by a busy intersection. I would... More
