This establishment should be the benchmark for all other hotels, B & B's. The property has a fantastic history, told by staff, booklets and pictures hung around every wall. Beautifully and tastefully decorated bedrooms, corridors, staircases, sitting rooms and dining rooms. Supreme comfort and quality everywhere. Beautiful bed linen, bath towels, robes. Awesome grounds and facilities. Every member of staff(even... More

One of my sons recently commented on the fact that my ratings tend to be on the very good or excellent side rather than on the poor or terrible side. My reply was of course that it's not surprising as we always choose our B&B:s and hotels based on tripadvisor. Pentillie Castle is no exception it is indeed a wonderful... More

We can only say that our stay was most enjoyable. The rooms were as expected, as we have been staying at Pentillie Castle in 2013. The location is sensational. The personal, service and all the people involved looking after the guests are very friendly, helpful and warm and welcoming. Our stay was almost like coming home, or staying with friends.... More

The visit is like staying in a friends' country house. Staff are helpful and friendly and there is such a relaxed atmosphere. The bedroom contains all you might need and we enjoyed the home made shortbread. I enjoyed reading the history of the house and family I found there. The bathroom was a revelation! The view from both was beautiful... More

Only stayed one night but it was an exceptional sojourn. Everything was very well done - lovely, attentive staff, good food, beautiful bedroom, house and one of the prettiest corners of Cornwall. We felt really at home and thoroughly spoilt and rested. The weather was amazing and we even went in the heated outdoor pool. A real treat. Will definitely... More

I booked reservations at the Pentillie Castle with the thought that it would be a great way to visit the Plymouth area. What a perfect choice! Plymouth is not a place you want to drive and park, so following the Castle's suggestion, we use one of Plymouth's "park and go" lots. What a great way to visit the city. But... More

So pleased we decided to come to Pentillie. We had a really beautiful, spacious and luxurious room, in what is a very grand country house, set in grounds and gardens you are free to explore and enjoy, with breathtaking views over the Tamar. It is the owners and staff which really make this place exceptional though, with warm welcomes, a... More

Wonderfully warm and friendly staff, beautiful and welcoming rooms, delicious breakfast, relaxing and calming grounds - what a 24 hours! Wish we could have stayed longer; the stress melted away as we drove up the drive. Everything has been thought of and so stylishly carried out from home-made biscuits in the rooms to jugs and vases of fresh garden flowers... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your break at Pentillie Castle. Sarah will be delighted to hear that you liked her flower posies (she sources as much of the flowers and foliage as possible from our gardens - no shortage at this time of the year!), and Roger who makes our shortbread. We look forward to seeing you... More

Having seen Pentillie Castle on Country House Rescue we were not at all sure what to expect when we visited recently however we were completely blown away by every aspect of this perfect hotel. We had the warmest welcome from Sarah and, as we had arrived before any other guests, we were able to have a quick look at all... More

Thank you for taking the time to review your break at Pentillie Castle. We're glad that you liked Sarah's choice of style (despite Ruth Watson's objections!). We like to think that it's in keeping with the Castle's quirky character, combined with a fresh, modern feel. The Rod and Line is an amazing pub - we hope that you tried their... More

What an amazing hotel. In a secluded part of the Tamar valley this exceptional hotel provided a truly romantic getaway. It's an impressive building full of character and history. The interior is gorgeous and I could not fault our room (Parker). Lovely grounds and walks with quirky tales to keep you enchanted. Only sampled the breakfast which was spot on.... More

Built in the 17th century, Pentillie Castle is situated in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Cornish banks of the River Tamar. All 9 bedrooms are en-suite (some with Victorian style roll-top baths!) offering views over the River Tamar and surrounding woodland.
