One of the lights in the room had to be replaced. The sink was missing a stopper At breakfast the staff waited untill all the rolls and the coffee were finished before baking new rolls and brewing new coffee. So around nine we were without rolls, coffee and tea.

We were moored up in the harbour and needed to find a restaurant close by who could accommodate us without a booking and this one came up trumps . The food choice was quite limited but was good value, freshly prepared and plenty of it ! Service was good and the food served promptly. Not the most characterful of places... More

We found this hotel to be very satisfactory in all respects with one exception - there was no hair dryer in our room. We were treated very courteously, although the staff were more formal and not as friendly as we'd experienced in other places in Holland. The hotel has a great location right beside the harbour where you can sit... More

We spent only a night in the hotel, but we found it a charming experience. It is situated on the old harbour, which is active the whole year through. The room was on the first floor, not in a wine cask. It was tidy, clean and the mattresses were very agreeable. The service is very correct and matter-of-fact-like, probably due... More

Sleeping in a wine barrel, who would have thought we, the Dutch, had such an option. You might think you had to search in France for such a thing. And it was a treat. The wine Barrel itself was wonderful and during the evening while watching a dvd it was very cozy. So it certainly created a hell of an... More

The hotel is the only one in Stavoren and is located in the middle of the village, looking onto the harbour area, which is a hive of activity throughout the year, mainly with German yachters and sailboat enthusiasts. This location has its downside in that parking is extremely limited, no more than 4 or 5 cars for hotel guests, the... More

Ever wanted to sleep in an old 14,000 liter wine cask/borrel? In the hotel in Stavoren you can do that. Besides the regular rooms, the hotel offers four rooms where the sleeping room exists entirely out of an old wine borrel. The back side of the borrel is open so that you have access to the small living room and... More
