This hotel has chnged owners not too long ago (little over a year i believe). Last year i wanted to stay here but after seeing the appartments I decided not to stay. They were outdated and dirty. However, I told myself I would go back. Last june I went back there with my kids and stayed for the night in... More

The guidebooks claim that Schiermonnikoog is the most beautiful place in the Netherlands, and they're right. We have stayed at this hotel three times already, and are returning in 2014 for a fourth visit. From the start, we have been pampered and cared for: Monique Talsma, that most efficient of receptionists, has always found a room for us that far... More

This hotel has lost the plot. High room prices not matched by quality. No WiFi in rooms. Hotel supplies stored in bar lounge and library. No fresh fruit and terrible coffe at breakfast. No newspapers. Very slow service at dinner. For excellent WiFi we had to go to snackbar across street.

This hotel is basic and not well run. Public areas used for storage. Rooms are clean and basic but over priced. Restaurant and kitchen under staffed and diners kept waiting over an hour between courses! Food not prepared well but priced high, well below standards of various other eateries on the island. Housecleaning good but under staffed. Won't return.....

we stayed 4 days in the summer 2013. The appartment is okay, enough space for 2 adults, the beds are comfortable and the living room has nice sofa's. The kitchen is okay, the basics are there. The balcony is nice in the morning with some sun. The hotel is located in the middle of the village, with the busstop in... More

By far the prettiest hotel on the island... a wonderfully sunny terrace, and a classic and unspoilt dining room... We liked our simple - if old-fashioned - room (No. 3)... a nice view over the green... (and an interesting, but acceptable, level of noise from the vdW revelers singing some traditional Dutch songs late into the night...)... after all, we... More

The rooms are lovely, location very central, handy to everything, but the food was so disappointing compared to our first visit in 2005. Would think twice before booking here again, sadly. This is a beautiful island so hope to return; hoping the food improves for our third time lucky?

We took the Bernstorff arrangement, two nights, Monday and Tuesday, for 440 euros for two persons. They gave us a nice room with a great view, but we were very disappointed by the dinner the service is just so un professional! When we arrived, our name was not on the "list" for dinner, but they found us a table quickly.... More

No doubt this is the best place to stay in Schiermonnikoog. It has the best restaurant, the best location and probably the friendliest staff. You will indulge in a fantastic breakfast which features a rarity in Dutch hotels: smoked salmon and (almost) full english breakfast. However... it is not all bliss. Rooms are so-so: furniture with stains or tears, very... More

We spent 3 nights with our family (2 adults, 3 children) in a hotel apartment in Graaf Bernstorff. If you like exploring nature and bicycling, this is a wonderful place. It is very relaxing to spend a few days without traffic! The island has a beautiful beach and extensive dunes, and also some lakes with birds, rabbits etc. Graaf Bernstorff... More
