spent two nights at this hotel for the WSB at Assen. Plenty parking and the hotel was really comfortable. Lovely village with friendly people. Ate at the Italian across the canal and also the Balkan a few doors along. Had a great night in the Balkan when the 9 of us asked the boss to pick the food for us.... More

Stayed here for 2 nights in September to use as a base for Assen race track. Can not recommend highly enough. Loved every minute here. Plenty of room for Parking, lovely bar area, great breakfast on a morning. Restaurant also looked good although didn't eat there. In a beautiful village, literally a 15 minute drive from Assen which was almost... More

We stayed at the Hotel De Zon in late September, using it as a base for cycling day trips in the surrounding countryside. The small town of Oosterwolde is a quiet place with few amenities, but it is located in a beautiful part of the country, close to Appelscha and the Nationaal Park Drents-Friese Wold. The guest rooms are basic... More

Staying at the Fletcher Hotel Oosterwolde while visiting BSB at Assen. Only about 30 km from track. Staff fantastic, food out of this world, accommodation really comfy. Highly recommended. Town on the canal, very clean streets friendly people picturesque.

I don't get the 3 star bit of this hotel...value for money? I don't think so! Okay, the bed was good, and it was clean but everything was so outdated, the room was really small, the website mentiones a spacious bathroom but I can assure you: spacious it is not! Also the website mentiones a sauna... I could not find... More

I got a "delux" room which had a small balcony overlooking the canal. The rooms are deeply in need of an update; carpets on the floor is a bit smelly. But the beds are very good. The breakfast was very good and lots to choose from.

This old hotel has got additional rooms which consist of 2 rows of old restored porto cabins. This brings us back to the seventies, when these were used as temporary construction cabins. A narrow room with a narrow, shower at one site and a basic toilet at the other. Cold linoleum on the floor, a 'camping'-tv, no fridge, etc. Unworthy... More
