This is really a motel and not practical for traveler's using anything but a car. It is within a few minutes by car to Avenches which is known for its Roman ruins and museum. Although the hotel uses the word "lake" in French in its name, there is no lake to be seen from the hotel. The view is unspectacular unless you enjoy green fields. The room was utilitarian, but clean and functional, and most importantly, quiet. A single booking here will get you a single bed which could be a bit of a surprise for those used to king size. The breakfast was a quite good continental style. The bread was excellent. The hotel does serve dinner but I didn't try it, preferring instead to try a restaurant in Avenches. In summary, it was quite all right for a single night stay close to Avenches. more
