My third visit to this hotel. When I am thinking I need a peaceful week away the Kaktus always springs to mind. I just love the tranquillity of Albir, Benidorm is just a short bus ride and a world away and Altea is within walking distance. The location of the hotel could not be better, just across the road from... More

Hotel is ideally situated approx 50 meters across from a pebbly beach. Property is well suited for disabled people, easy access & plenty of room to move around in. The ages of guests during our stay varied, but hotel accommodated all age groups. Firstly, although not mentioned before the rooms do have a kettle, but no tea/ coffee provided. A... More

Spent 14 days at this hotel, and wasn't too charmed by it. The most positive aspect is its position. It is on the sea front and its views are terrific. Apart from sunbathing there isn't a lot else to do at this hotel. The two-man band (a couple who play the organ and sing) appear to play every night, but... More

Attended a wedding here and cant fault it. Food at wedding reception was fantastic. Bar staff could learn to smile or maybe if they are that unhappy in their jobs they could get employment elsewhere. I didnt stay over so cant comment on accomodation

stayed here end of September for 6 nights the rooms were a good size bathrooms were huge staff good. Problems started in the serving area of the dining room which is far to small and because of this the lines of people getting served is awful I hate to think what its like in peak times having said that the... Not up to 4 star standard, expecially with the food which was very poor. The rooftop flooring was uneven and dangerous, and the whole hotel needed updating. The evening entertainment was a duo, which provided ballroom dancing, and they sang the same few songs every night (which got too much after a fortnight) The postion and decor of the hotel... More

You pretty much get what you pay for at the Kaktus. It's a fairly basic, unfussy seafront holiday hotel. As far as we were concerned it was far enough away from Benidorm to be comfortable, but close enough to hop on a local bus and spend an afternoon on Benidorm's front and gawp at the tattooed whales (embarrasingly mostly British)... Only stayed here for three nights in early oct .Great location right on the pebbled beach. The room was clean with a sea view,tv picture awful not that it bothered us .We only had breakfast which wasn't,t the best .We ventured on to the rooftop pool/terrace but quickly came back down ,it needs a complete revamp .We tried the small pool... We stayed at this hotel for 3 weeks 09/09/14 to 30/09/14. The area on the whole is very nice and a short walk takes you to the little town, local buses are frequent and on time to both Benidorm and Altea. The beach is full of large pebbles and the sea shelves greatly, rather dangerous for children and the elderly... More

After staying at the Albir Playa and Spa, which was fantastic, we decided to stay at the Kaktus which was right on the sea front. Wrong decision. The breakfast was cold so we ate out every day. The sheets were not changed in the ten days we were there. Staff were very unfriendly. Had a problem with the head barman... More
