Stayed one night after arriving in Santander and going south. Arrived in time for dinner which was excellent and well served by friendly staff in wood beamed room. Check in was easy and efficient into this old monastery. Room was clean and very acceptable on the second floor with air conditioning and great view over the courtyard. Buildings are very... More

This hotel is a very well converted monastery into a now comfortable hotel and is an especially convenient stop when heading south from the northern Spanish ports. We had a junior suite for €133. It had a good comfortable bed on a mezzanine level with a small sitting area and a downstairs bathroom which was a bit basic. The rather... More

Sitting here now on the patio. The place is really pretty and the front desk staff were amazing! The room is nice and very clean. My biggest complaint is the waitstaff. That can't be bothered to do their job. I actually had to go and ask for a knife and fork for my dinner and they just laughed. Kind of... More

We loved our stay. Booked last minute and got a great deal. People at the desk speak English well but aren't the most friendly. We only got dinner at the bar and breakfast - both were fine but not great. Still a very lovely place - we liked it so much we tried to stay another night (but alas, it... More

During my walk on the Camino de Santiago I decided to treat myself, and what a treat this was. Quiet chanting in all the public areas set the tone for this magnificent rehabilitation of an former cloisters by a group local Spanish developers. On the edge of town it provided a wonderful sanctuary with a large room and bath with... More

We have stayed in this hotel twice whilst walking the Camino de Santiago. It's one of the more expensive options, but the building is beautiful and the hotel is right on the camino. The rooms are not overly luxurious, but comfortable and well-equipped. The wi fi worked well.We thought the dining options looked a bit expensive, so we walked back... More

An old monastery converted to a hotel. Although charming and rather luxurious looking from the outside, we didn't really enjoy this place as the rooms were dark and gloomy. The bathroom was modern but the beds and the rooms were very rustic. We ate dinner in the bar area which suited us as the restaurant opened too late. Along the... More

This hotel is an easy 1hr30mins to 2 hour drive from Santander. Friendly welcome, room was a reasonable size, with very comfortable beds. The food, ( dinner and breakfast ) was good - not haute cuisine but well cooked and promptly served. The hotel and room heating were good too, as it was a chilly night. For the price we... More

I absolutely loved this hotel and would happily stay again. I came across it whilst walking the Camino and after weeks of albergues and living rough, decided to give myself a bit of luxury. The hotel was very affordable (especially if you're used to London or big city prices) and there is something quite mystical about it. The staff were... More

stopped here on the way to San Sebastien. Most remarkable was the price, about 50 euros for a clean, comfortable and reasonably well appointed room. It's not the Four Seasons, but perfectly adequate for our purposes. The tour of the chapel and the Monastery was a bonus. I found the staff to be polite and accomodative.
