We stayed two nights in this marvellous location as a stopover on our camino. I found the Hotel to be lacking in the most important ingredient, hospitality and a lasting impression. Reception were non helpful but were always there to offer help only if you had good spanish communication. I had to resort to the iPhone translation app to request... More

This hotel was fabulous - the decor, the music played in the halls & the fabulous rooms. Staff at the bar & on reception were very nice & friendly. We stayed here as part of our Camino trip along and there were a mix of Camino travellers also here. The tour of the monastery was lovely & it featured lovely... More

We stayed here while we had a break from walking the Camino Frances. This is an old converted monastery, and we booked a junior suite which is located in the older part of the buildings. Absolutely classic. Exposed rocks in some walls, split level room, wooden floors. Bed in a loft area. Bathroom was a little dated, and me could... More

A good hotel in an area where there are not that many you could say that about. The rooms are large and clean and the beds are comfortable with nice linen. The bathrooms are a good size and the shower is powerful. The dinners are delicious and the staff friendly. Breakfast is a bit busy between 0800 and 0845 when... More

A unique accomodation experience, which is well worth a visit. The hotel stay does not include access to the monestery, which is a must do, as it is only a few euros. The monestery is located about a 15 minute walk from town, which has places for dining. During warmer weather, the river is also popular for swimming, and can... More

The rooms are comfortable. The setting is tranquil. The food is expensive, lousy and way overpriced. The wifi is very spotty. The staff at check in will wait on you after they're finished other things. The cafeteria staff will get your order following dish clean up.

Steps up and down into reception were a bit of a problem with heavy suitcases. No welcome from the receptionist as we checked in. Told us all rooms were the same size despite us reading lots of reviews to the contrary. However, we got a decent sized room. There was one incredibly uncomfortable metal chair and a very small desk... More

A bit out of town (15 min easy walk) this converted monastery is an amazing building. The rooms are fine, great value for the price I paid. Bathroom well equipped. Slow wifi available in a hallway outside my room but not in my room. It must be difficult in a building so old with thick walls. Reception was friendly but... More

A group of us stayed at Hotel Real Monasterio San Zoilo for 3 nights whilst travelling along the Camino to Santiago de Compostela. The hotel is part of a monastery and normally at this time of the year the hotel is shut as it is after the main season. However with a group of 28 people travelling they were very... More

My tour party spent 3 nights in this hotel, and in general it was a good experience. The location and the buildings are beautiful. If not attached to a hotel, the cloister and chapel could be major tourist attractions in themselves. My husband and I were happy with our room, and the bathroom - with big, fast-running bath - was... More
