Stayed here last week, absolutely wonderful place. I would recommend this place to anyone, the pool area is lovely, clean and the location of the speakers makes the relaxing balearic music sound great when in the pool. The staff (Joe, Janet and Christina) were helpful, smiley and always made us feel welcome. Rooms were perfect. I'll be staying here again... More

Staff are fabulous - really clued up on Ibiza and happy to hand out tips. Pool area is great - a real oasis - high walls, v private, good bar, seats etc. Only a few mins stroll from Mambo, Del Mar etc. Close to the bus station and taxi rank for trips to Ibiza Town. And near to the bay... More

I liked the hotel very much. Everything was new and clean. The hotel staff was extremely helpful and kind. Food is delicious. If you are planning to stay in San Antino, you can choose this hotel without any doubt. But San Antonio is not a right place to live real Ibiza dream. If you are planning a real Ibiza holiday,... Me and my partner planned on staying here for 2 nights but ended up staying alot longer. It's right in the center and just a few minutes walk from everywhere. The rooms are emaculate and our room had a lovely balcony with a view of the amazing tranquil pool. The food in the restaurant is unbelievably tastey and it's great... More

Had a amazing time here. Excellent cocktails served by friendly, welcoming staff. I'll be staying here when next in Ibiza as I had brilliant time here. The pool area is brilliant and the hotel itself stands out as the best in the area. Tastefully decorated.

We came across this place by chance, after booking our holiday short and needing one nights stay. Not being impressed by other hostels in the area, we decided to stay at The Purple and what a brilliant decision we made. We were welcomed with free cocktails as we were the first people to stay at this beautifully decorated hotel, with... More

I really can't talk about this hotel enough! I flew at cabin crew for BA for 15 years and have spent a lot of my life in many hotels around the world. This place is just so fantastic for the price. It's actually too good to be true. The decor is fabulous. The Pool area is amazing. The cocktails are... More

Not a bad Hostal by any means. Rooms are spacious and tidy, benefits from a ceiling fan which can be an absolute godsend and less drying to the air than conditioning. Pool area is quite nice, pool could do with cleaning a little more regular though. Drinks from the bar are more than reasonable. Located close to the Westend but... More

We stayed here beginning of September and it was a bit of a shock. When we booked it we thought it was going to be a run down place, however when we got there it was great. Pool was clean, rooms were cleaned everyday with new towels. There was a bar with a Wide screen TV to relax and chill... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Until this hostel received a complete refurbishment and rebranding in 2014, it was operated under a different name as one of the numerous no-frills hostels in town for several decades. Now we call it The PURPLE Hostel. And it is the first and only accommodation in San Antonio, dedicated exclusively to the LGBT market, - not just gay friendly. Apart from its close location to the coastline (500 meters or 546 yards) with its stunning views of the world famous and spectacular sunsets next to prominent features like Cafe del Mar, Bar Mambo, Mint Lounge or Savannah, it is also situated in walking distance of the promenade 'Paseo Maritimo' (350 meters or 382 yards. And the next beach 'Calo des Moro' is in easy reach with a stroll of just 650 meters or 710 yards. The place is best described as a space for people who do not like spending their holidays in multistorey hotels with masses of tourists, but do prefer a cosy and very familiar atmosphere with the possibility to chill-out in the tranquil courtyard at the pool, or to enjoy delicious cocktails and mouth-watering snacks or other excellent food on the embellished terrace, sitting under one of the sunshades. All rooms have been brightened up with white and purple coloured room furniture and fittings as well as technically modernized with air conditioning, 32" flat screen satellite TV, individual safety deposit box and Wi-Fi. Half of the chambers are overlooking the modernized and enlarged courtyard and the other half is facing another apartment building opposite. At The Purple itself there are no extraordinary views from the balconies, however, you will find an unobstructed coastline panorama towards the neighbouring island of Sa Conillera within a few seconds walk of the hostel entrance. In addition to all these new features The Purple now offers on the ground floor, a new and functional reception-cum-bar and lounge area for meeting other guests of the hostel or local people of the LGBT community. And the well-known nightlife-spots or places of interest in Ibiza town can be reached by public transport from the local bus terminus (550 meters or 600 yards) all day. ... more   less
