4 star? Thompson is deluded if this is a hotel of quality. The Oriental hotel is tired and is suffering from serious disrepair and in need of a complete makeover. Booked in to the Oriental with my male partner for our honeymoon after our gay civil partnership. Nice hotel but not great , could have been cleaner and breakfast not up to much. Staff not very friendly. Great location but you need to pay extra for a sea view. Chose the Oriental hotel for a special birthday treat, but was informed 2 days prior to arrival that booking made several weeks earlier and confirmed was cancelled due to hotel overbooking. This is a problem which from reviews has occured before and you should be wary of. more
