Without any questions, I recommend this beautiful little place to anyone wanting to visit the inland part of Alentejo! A calm, well looked after, friendly, super comfy place, with a seriously friendly owner and staff. A massive thank you for a lovely stay over the Christmas holidays!

We're visiting Portugal, my home country, for Christmas, slowly exploring a different part of Alentejo and staying in different places. Because of its fabulous reviews, I've booked this place for the night - and what a delight! Calm, welcoming, spacious yet cosy and homy.... We will definitely come back!

Wife and I stayed here recently for one night after a spur of the moment decision to visit the Alentajo from the Algarve. Manuela was the perfect hostess it's her family home and she knows everything there is to know about the area . Nice room though a bit basic for me ,I just get used to king sized beds,... More

Manuela lives here as it is her family home. It has also been a college for Jesuit priests. She has extensive knowledge about the area and it's history. The house is old and very cool, even cold, when it is hot outside as it has been in this October. The weather has been glorious. The hotel is in a small street.... More

We stayed in this lovely house with a group of friends and everyone just loved it: the kindness of the hosts, the atmosphere of the house beautifully decorated with a personal and sensible touch. It's a perfect place to stay when enjoying a holiday in Alentejo.

We stayed here for a weekend in October and can thorougly recommend this for anyone wanting to experience the delights of the Alentejo. The Casa was very easy to find and is very conveniently located in the delightful town of Vila Vicosa, close to the Palace and many good restaurants. There is ample free parking right ourside the door as... More

I agree, it is a little gem in Vila Vicosa. My wife and I stayed here for one night. A little bit hidden in the street, nice courtyard and the building inside gives you a warm, welcoming feeling. The story of the building is very interesting, the owner very friendly. Our room was spacious and clean, the bathroom more than... More

Vila Viçosa is a hidden gem location where tourists are rare and locals still go about their daily lives. Casa do Colegio Velho is a rare blend of homely, personal service and top-notch quality. Everything matters to the owner whose interest in her residents' well-being and satisfaction with their stay was almost too attentive at times. Attention to detail was... More

We, my wife and me, arrived at Vila Viçosa after lunch in a very sunny and hot day. To find the Casa do Colégio Velho was not a difficult task as it is near the Royal Palace, the main monument of the city. As we ring the bell, a very simpathetic lady welcome us. The ambience inside was very cosy,... More
