We just returned October 8, 2014, from Villa Mangiacane in Tuscany. Here is what it is. Its a very laid back atmosphere with a wonderful, helpful staff. It is not a place with staff everywhere swooning over you. It is peaceful and beautiful and quiet. When we wanted wine with oil and bread I simply stuck my head in the... More

From the moment you drive in the gate the beauty of Villa Mangiacane greets you. The service is the best ever experienced, from reception, cleaning staff to the restaurant staff. The food is unbelievable and nothing is too much trouble. One of the restaurant staff heard we were going on a long day trip so she packed us a bag... More

I have read other reviews about what a superb view of Florence you get from the spacious balconies & verandas & how wonderful the lounge rooms are with their amazing frescos . We chose this hotel precisely for these reasons but on arrival we were advised that the Villa was off limits, because it was booked for exclusive use for... More

Stayed here for a very beautiful wedding party; the villa is superb for privacy, nice lounge rooms to use in between guests and a beautiful view over florence from the spacious balconies and veranda.. Dinner outside near the pool area on a long dining table with nice BBQ cooked meal, well catered, nice wines, and still a romantic, cosy character...... More

I had the pleasure of staying at this property on a few previous occasions and went back in August this year. It has such charm and is perfectly situated just outside the city of Florence. It truly is a spectacular property with a beautiful forest adjacent and is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The rooms in the main villa... More

been there twice, just gorgeous property, can't stay at any other place while in Tuscany. Great location to stay based at; you can drive to many vineyards and towns near by for the day. For dinner, I highly recommend nearby Trattoria La Barachina, for its simple and genuine but unbelievably delicious food. Ask for Lorenzo, the owner. Just try not... More

If you're expecting 5 star service, this place is not for you & will be a waste of your money. The rooms are unkept, the place lacks any level of service. I am tipping they are focussing their efforts on making $$ for events at the property & taken their eye off the accommodation detail. You'll know what I mean... More

It is a spectacular location, the hotel is luxuriously renovated, but some details are just meeting the standards. Many of the rooms have almost no window, the restaurant for breakfast has nothing special to offer, and there are few places to eat outside in the shade making people eat inside when the weather is gorgeous. The reception staff is very... More

I spent 4 days at the magnificent Mangiacane with my family. The hotel is marvellous and in a perfect and idyllic spot, the staff were very kind and attentive, the chefs cooked marvellous food for us and our room was a dream. Mangiacane is a Tuscan paradise. The award winning wines, especially the Chianti Classico 2009, was all we hoped... More

A very lovely location, beautiful and peaceful, BUT, we had hoped to experience drinks on the Loggia looking at the sunset and wandering around the gardens, neither of these possible as the main villa was booked exclusively so all area's were out of bounds, Although it also advertises a beautiful spa, the website does not let you know that it...
