Some people enjoy the heat & narrow pavements of Florence but this lovely hotel is paradise if you are lucky enough to hear of this spectacular 16th century property sited on the most beautiful hillside close to Florence with the scenery you dreamed of in Tuscany.

It took us just 20 minutes from Florence to be at the top of a vineyard laden hill upon which this villa sits, directly facing Brunelleschi's dome. In fact, the dome can be seen perfectly through a key-hole like effect that has been cut straight through the forest. The two pools show the vying themes here. The brand new infinity-edge... More

So thrilled we choose Villa Mangiacane for 3 nights in the middle of our 17 day 1st trip to Italy! It was exactly what we hoped and more. Breathtaking views, peace and quiet, romantic walks and amazing food and wine. We were upgraded (without asking) to a gorgeous room with three huge windows. The staff were professional, kind and given... More

We had a reservation in this hotel after a trip in several beautiful hotels in Tuscany. First they charged us the price for two nights after an error on booking.com and even after signing a document with them, after them promising and us reminding them by emails, they never got back or reimbursed us what was left of the second... We just returned October 8, 2014, from Villa Mangiacane in Tuscany. Here is what it is. Its a very laid back atmosphere with a wonderful, helpful staff. It is not a place with staff everywhere swooning over you. It is peaceful and beautiful and quiet. When we wanted wine with oil and bread I simply stuck my head in the... More

From the moment you drive in the gate the beauty of Villa Mangiacane greets you. The service is the best ever experienced, from reception, cleaning staff to the restaurant staff. The food is unbelievable and nothing is too much trouble. One of the restaurant staff heard we were going on a long day trip so she packed us a bag... More

I have read other reviews about what a superb view of Florence you get from the spacious balconies & verandas & how wonderful the lounge rooms are with their amazing frescos . We chose this hotel precisely for these reasons but on arrival we were advised that the Villa was off limits, because it was booked for exclusive use for... More

Stayed here for a very beautiful wedding party; the villa is superb for privacy, nice lounge rooms to use in between guests and a beautiful view over florence from the spacious balconies and veranda.. Dinner outside near the pool area on a long dining table with nice BBQ cooked meal, well catered, nice wines, and still a romantic, cosy character...... More

I had the pleasure of staying at this property on a few previous occasions and went back in August this year. It has such charm and is perfectly situated just outside the city of Florence. It truly is a spectacular property with a beautiful forest adjacent and is surrounded by vineyards and olive trees. The rooms in the main villa... More

been there twice, just gorgeous property, can't stay at any other place while in Tuscany. Great location to stay based at; you can drive to many vineyards and towns near by for the day. For dinner, I highly recommend nearby Trattoria La Barachina, for its simple and genuine but unbelievably delicious food. Ask for Lorenzo, the owner. Just try not... More
