We did not stay at this Villa but visited for dinner as the food at the Villa we were staying in was not very good and this was just up the road and meant we did not have to drive into San Casciano. We were not disappointed, and wished we had found this place to stay. We were warmly welcomed... More

A beautiful, rustic, idyllic Tuscan villa set in olive groves overlooking the Pesa valley. Calm, informal, easy-going ambience, e.g. an honesty bar in the lounge rather than pool-side waiters. Warm, friendly, ever-helpful staff. Excellent breakfasts are the perfect start to any day. The villa is more like staying in a friend's very large villa than a hotel. The villa is... More

Our family of four (two adults and two teens) stayed for five nights. The beauty and hospitality of this Villa was apparent from the moment we arrived. We loved the quiet, country feel but it is only 30 min to Florence (by car) and easy access to many stunning country drives and villages. They have a fabulous complimentary breakfast and... More

Upon arriving at the villa you are struck by its beauty. That is where it ends. This property has absentee ownership with horrible on site management who care little about their vistors. Upon arrival no one in the office was nice. It was difficult to get help to bring up our luggage the many stairs to our room. The room... More

My husband and I have just spent 10 nights at Villa Il Poggiale, this was a stunning oasis during this exceptionally hot summer. The Villa was our base to explore all the Tuscany delights from Florence to Siena and the many gorgeous villages within 10-20min drive. The property only catered for in house guests which kept it quiet and relaxing.... More

We rented the separate "farmhouse" here for 5 days. It was perfect for our family since we wanted two bedrooms, two bathrooms plus a common area and fully stocked kitchen. This gave us all of that - plus the benefits of the Villa but the privacy of being on our own. The staff were so accommodating and kind. And they... More

We spent two nights at Villa il Poggiale in April with our 3-year-old and a baby. The service was friendly, food amazing, rooms clean and both the interior and exterior of the old villa was fantastic. There was even a little, modest spa in the basement with a hot tub that our kids enjoyed. The closest town, San Casciano was... More

This is a lovely informal hotel in a beautiful location in the Tuscan hills surrounding Florence. The lovely setting is matched by the lovely spacious well designed rooms in this old villa. The WiFi isn't great and the breakfast could be better but the friendly welcome more than makes up for it.

After reading great reviews on Trip Advisor and reading the website, I booked three nights in the Tuscan Hill Suite which is advertised as "The rooms called Tuscan Hill belongs to the Junior Suite category; they are elegantly furnished and have a wonderful view overlooking the Chianti hills" These are the most expensive roooms, and I was disappointed because while... My fiancé and I stayed at the hotel for a few nights and it was absolutely amazing. The staff went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. The scenery/location was stunning as was the food where we ate at the hotel restaurant every night. Would definitely recommend staying here.
