This is our 4th visit to Montecarlo and second visit to Antica Casa Naldi. We chose it because on previous trips to Montecarlo we really enjoyed the hospitality of the two owners, Antonella and Miriam, when they operated another inn in this charming hill-top village. I highly recommend this property. This historic home is located on a very quiet street,... More

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Casa Naldi. This charming B&B is located in the medieval village of Montecarlo. It's situation on a hilltop allows for beautiful vistas of the Tuscan valley. The room and en suite bathroom were kept spotlessly clean. We very much appreciated the travelling advice offered by the friendly owners of the B&B. If you intend... More

Pensione type B&B in 'picture postcard', hilltop village near Lucca. If you are expecting 5* luxury then this is not the place for you but if you want a nice, clean room with great views over the surrounding countryside at a very good price then this may just be your version of Nirvana. Breakfast is nothing much to sing about... More

We had a wonderful stay at Antica Casa Naldi. We loved the stunning view from our window and were very pleased with the warm welcome we received from our host Miriam. The house was beautiful and well looked after and our room was spacious and comfortable. The lovely village of Montecarlo offers great restaurants, a great atmosphere and enough entertainment.

We booked Casa Naldi because we needed a place close to the theatre where we were doing Puccini's Tabarro. The main reason we booked the place was the availability of the kitchen. And we never regretted one bit. The place is simply lovely, well kept at the same time authentic, extremely clean and central. The views from our room were... More

My grandparents were born in the small, historical Tuscan hilltown of Montecarlo. I wanted to stay there and awaken to the church bells. Our room in the Antica Casa Naldi was perfect. Large, comfortable and Italian. The shuttered windows opened to a glorious panoramic view. Our host, Miriam spoke perfect English and was a big help. After the bustle of... More

We spent 3 beautiful days of our honeymoon in "Antica Casa Naldi". Loved everything about the place ! First of all, the village of Montecarlo(Lucca) is such a nice place, few restaurants, few old homes, one grocery shop with best home made prosciutto. Secondly, the owners of the place are such a great people, they met us at 1am (... More

We were on our honemoon looking for a place to stay the weekend. Tourist information in Lucca pointed us in the direction of MONTECARLO and we were lucky enough to stumble upon this great B&B. We stayed the whole week long in the end - We liked it so much here. This B&B is situated in the charming romantic village... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Situated close to the walls and in the centre of the medieval village Montecarlo the Antica Casa Naldi is built on the foundations of a fourteenth’s century building; you can still breath medieval area. After extensive renovations the owners have maintained as much as possible the 'original appearance of the father's house, preserving the terracotta floors, wooden beams, stone walls, and traditional decor. The beautiful and spacious kitchen with an ancient stone sink and its big fireplace, once the meeting place of the family Naldi, is now available for guests to prepare breakfast (provided by us) or other meals. From the kitchen through a small terrace you access a private part of the walls of the village with magnificent views over the Valdinievole. The spacious bedrooms are all different, bright and welcoming. Each is named after a spice (vanilla, juniper, cinnamon ...) to remind the chemist or better the pharmacist of the village having his laboratory in the house until the beginning of nineteenth century. Finally, the beautiful tavern with its courtyard under the walls, that lends itself to accommodate meetings for small groups.Antica Casa Naldi is a perfect place to discover the authentic Tuscany, living in a typical quiet village complete with its traditions but near the most important cities of the region including Lucca, Pisa and Florence. The strategic location also allows to reach quickly the Versilia coast and mountains of the Garfagnana. ... more   less
