The review of the Brussels’ family is spot-on in my opinion. ‘Copy-paste’ would be the simplest action but that wouldn’t do justice to the special place Spannocchia is. It deserves a personal effort. The place really grows on you and that’s partly because of the passion, the commitment and the enthusiasm of all the people involved; the interns, other volunteers... More

With my family we arrived without really knowing what we were going to get. To give you an idea, I was disappointed when I arrived but it was hard for me to leave. To make simple it shouldn't be called a hotel. If you like all the modern comforts of hotels and what it means today, this place is not... More

This was an excellent experience. I am very interested in organic gardening and sustainable living which is what this place is about. It is not a 5 star resort so do not come here thinking it is. It is a chance to live as the locals in the area live and live close to the earth and eat marvelously fresh... More

This was my second stay at Spannocchia, the first in 2006 as a student, and this trip with my husband and his parents. Everyone had a wonderful time and are hoping to be back next year. There are wonderful hiking trails throughout the property and the tours offered by the foundation were very informative. We stayed in Casa del Fantino... More

This was our second week-long rental at Spannocchia. There are many farmhouses available for rent, and each is distinct and different so you will need to read and ask to see what will suit you best. The property is 1000 acres of nature preserve and working, organic farm. We absolutely love it and hope to return. This time we brought... More

Spannochia is a place not to be missed, it is one of the highlights of our travels around the world, and will never be forgotten! It is a gem amongst an amazing backdrop of acres of land. The atmosphere is very relaxed, we felt extremely welcome and part of the family! Pasta making class, tiramisu class, wine tasting, olive oil... More

Remote facility - excellent place to be with your family and friends that want to "get away from it all". AND - if you want a jumping off place to hang your hat while taking day trips throughout the Tuscan area this is it as well! We stayed in the Casetta al Padule - this house is NOT close to... More

A seasoned traveler, I am always looking for memorable stays in great places. Tenuta di Spannocchia is a very large, over 1000 acres, very old, built in 1500's, and essentially unrenovated property. The land is beautiful and there are usually a lot of nice Americans visiting along with 10 young interns. But that's it. The rooms are old and dark,... More

This beautiful Tuscan farm compound has several room styles and homes on the property to choose from with different price points, all beautiful, very old but very well cared for. You can get to know lots of other travelers at the family-style meals, dining al fresco on fresh meats and vegetables grown in Spannocchia's gardens. The food and wine are... More

What a beautiful place to stay! We wanted some rustic agriturismo experiences on our honeymoon, and we weren't disappointed here. The room was large and comfortable, as was the bathroom. There was no AC, but the walls were so thick that rooms stayed cool. They also had screens on the window and provided a fan, so it was easy to... More
