We stayed in the La Porcilaia apartment (part of the Pretaccione complex) with our 11 year old twin boys. The property is actually a converted pig sty, which gives it a bit of character, and the site was originally part of the nearby Deviole vineyard (which we found out of the vineyard tour which was excellent). What a beautiful part... More

We stayed at the villa at the end of August 2012. The complex is isolated in a rural setting and a car is essential. The surrounding area is very scenic and San Gimignano , Sienna , Radda etc are within easy reach. The tennis and swimming pool were certainly adequate for our stay. The villa lacked a view , and we certainly... More

We stayed at Vecchia Stalla in Pretaccione for 1 week in July 2012 (2 adults and 2 teenagers). Pretaccione is about 2 hours drive from both Pisa and Bologna and you will definetely need a car. The villa was fabulous. It was very well equiped and beautifully decorated. We had a small garden at the front with sunbeds and a... More

Stayed at Vecchia Stalla within the complex of about 5 apartments of varying sizes for 1 week in August 2011 (very hot). All are owned separately, so not all are let at the same time. Ours comprised of a double and twin room, shower room and spacious kitchen/diner lounge. Stayed with two teenage children. Very impressed by the quality of... More

We stayed at Fornaio at Pretaccione for 1 week and the only problem was that we wish we had stayed much longer. The villa was amazing and the pool was beautifully maintained. The hamlet is very much off the beaten track, but so many good things are in Tuscany!! The facilities available at the villa (including full kitchen and laundry)... More

La Pretaccione is perfect for a family holiday or to share with friends. It is in the heart of beautiful countryside but within easy reach of Siena and many little villages. There is an excellent trattoria just down the road. The house is spacious , well-equipped and easy to keep clean. We had a great time painting in the area,... More

My husband and I spent a glorious 2 weeks in the La Porcilaia section of the Pretaccione farmhouse in August 2007. We'd return in a heartbeat. The seperate unit (it was the former farm's pigsty!) is surrounded by lavendar, and other lovely plants, has a rose-covered covered patio - perfect for outdoor eating and resting - and lies a few... We stayed at Annabel and Christopher Henfrey's house in the early days of Pretaccione and it was just what we wanted. It was modern living in an old building where everything worked and it was comfortable without being fussy. As it was easy to use the kitchen and keep it clean, maintenance time was minimal and time for exploring the... More
