We had an unfortunate case of "missing the boat" and ended up stranded in Pozzallo but it turned out to be a blessing in disguise when we got to meet Enrico and stay at his charming B&B. Mare Nostrum wasn't available on the night of our mishap but Enrico wasted no time in helping us find an alternative accommodation for... More

We had such a lovely stay in Mare Nostrum, just for one night but the owner Enrico was so welcoming and helpful, made us feel at home. The rooms are very nice, colourful and personalized all named after Italian poets. The breakfast was really good as well! We are definitely staying here next time we go to Pozzallo!

We stayed at Mare Nostrum for a weekend break from an extended holiday in Malta. From the moment we arrived at the front desk Enrico was friendliness personified. We required the use of the lift and a room with a walk-in shower. Enrico gave us a choice of rooms and after settling in he gave us a run down on... More

We stayed in Mare Nostrum with two dear friends with whom we were having a reunion. The hotel was comfortable. The breakfasts were satisfying. The staff were most friendly and accommodating. The owner, Enrico couldn't have been more welcoming. He arranged trips(one to Malta) and recommended areas of interest on the Island. Parking was available nearby at no charge. A... More

We stayed in this B&B for 6 nights. We had a very large room. The location couldn't be better, it's about 100 yards from the beach and there is free parking. It is very conveniently located if you fly to Comiso (Ryanair offers flights to Comiso). Enrico, the owner and manager, couldn't be a better host. He is most helpful... More

I previously reviewed this hotel on 15/04/13. We have visited the hotel again in October 2013, staying for six weeks. We have used the hotel as our base for and extended bird watching holiday in South East Sicily. As in April the hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. Instead of breakfast we opted for a hotel room with kitchen so... More

A nice large room clean and well set out. A good breakfast and friendly people. Close to the beach for a run in the morning. Free parking a hundred meters or so away. A short walk to the centre of the town. And a very short drive from the ferry from Sicily.

We stayed at this B&B for 4 nights and we had a great time. Rooms are clean, breakfast is excellent but it is Enrico who makes this place truly special with his helpful suggestions and his lovely outgoing personality. Simple and cosy place to stay. We would recommend it to everyone. Rikke & Paolo

Over the last year I have stayed at the Mare Nostrum on six occasions. After my first visit in September 2012 I travelled back both to see the wonderful things that Sicily has to offer but also to look for and eventually to buy an apartment in the town of Pozzallo. I have fallen in love with Sicily. For many... More

Great cozy hotel, located close to the beach. Near the ferry to Malta. Very quiet town for a pleasant stay. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The rooms are spacious. The staff is very friendly and responsive. Our stay was perfect. The staff helped book a car in the hotel, which was also no problem. All in all a very... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Mare Nostrum welcomes its guests in an environment caressed by the sea breeze and the sun beams of the Mediterranean coast. It has a strategic location. It is situated in the heart of Pozzallo, a nice seaside resort lying on a fine sandy beach and limpid waters, only a few kilometres far from stunning baroque sites, 90 minutes by ferry from the island of Malta and in the heart of the land and landscape of Commissario Montalbano, the main character of Andrea Camilleri, the famous sicilian writer who tells about charming sicilian culture, traditional life and authentic cuisine. Recently refurbished, our hotel offers bright and pleasantly furnished rooms; a suite, double rooms, twin rooms, triple and quadruple rooms. All with en-suite bathrooms, TV set, telephone, air conditioning and high speed cable or wireless internet connection. If you feel the pull of sight-seeing youll have plenty of choices; the nature reserves of Vendicari and Irminio, the impressive countryside and valleys, the Baroque gems of Modica, Ragusa, Scicli and Noto, the archeological sites of Ispica and Kamarina.
