Having sold our beach house on Cape Cod, we set out looking for relaxing spots abroad where we might share the local beach experience -- you know, not staying at a resort hotel but in an accommodation where we might load beach chairs and umbrellas into the back of the car and drive 5 minutes to a perfect beach to... This is an idyllic and stylish b&b set on a hill overlooking the stunning vendicari nature reserve. When we visited in April, the orange trees were wreathed in honeysuckle and bright red poppies and yellow daisies were scattered amongst the olive groves surrounding the rooms. The pool was inviting and refreshing after a hot morning of sightseeing. The hospitality of... More

A fantastic start to our honeymoon - couldn't have asked for more. Beautiful breakfasts, super comfortable and well-designed villas, serene setting and within easy reach of the coast. Would thoroughly recommend to anyone wanting to get away from it all.

Monteluce is set amongst peaceful olive and orange groves in southern Sicily. Our room was beautifully decorated and everything - from the sheets to the shampoo - was of the highest quality. Breakfast cooked by Sebastian is delightful, and the freshly squeezed orange juice alone is enough to make us return. On one day we asked him to provide lunch... More

Monteluce Country House is set in peaceful olive and orange groves a short distance from the beautiful baroque town of Noto in south-east Sicily. The rooms are spacious, facing the distant sea, with a wide terrace. The beds are extremely comfortable, even luxurious. Breakfast, served on a terrace scented by orange blossom, was fabulous and the hosts, Imelda and Sebastian,... More

What a lovely place set in wide open countryside with orange trees not far from the sea! My wife and I (plus our two bestest cousins) stayed here for 3 nights in April. Beautiful, spacious bedrooms - modern, airy luxurious ensuite with nice sitting out terrace. Our bed was large and comfortable (most important as we're both tall people!). There's... More

We stayed 4 nights here and enjoyed this architect-designed property set amidst olive and orange groves. The delightful spacious room with its own terrace and views of the Mediterranean was superb. We also had access to a joint lounge room and another outdoor space where we had cocktails in the evening. The breakfast was delicious and served in an outdoor... More

After touristy Taormina Monteluce was a haven. Set amongst olive and almond trees there are views of the sea but also of the magnificent Sicilian mountains. Our room was spacious and breakfast was fabulous. There is very little room for improvement but we would have liked more information on local restaurants and attractions maybe in written form in the bedrooms?... More

We had a lovely stay in Monteluce. Nothing was too much trouble for Sebastian and Imelda. They sorted out our camera problems. They left us homemade crostata outside our cottage for breakfast. They came to our need when cold prosecco was in order! Monteluce Country House is well situated for exploring but remote enough to hide away and just lounge... More

South-east Sicily is a wonderful place for medium break (4-8 days), with a rental car, combining stunning cultural sights (Noto, Syracuse, Ragusa etc) with amazing countryside, charming towns/villages for food and drink (Marzamemi, Noto) and some very decent beaches, especially the more hidden ones... Monteluce is the perfect base for this. A peaceful country estate, seemingly in the middle of... More
