Our intention was to visit the much vaunted baroque "new" Noto and only fit in Noto Antica if time allowed. Happily it did allow as the new town seemed somewhat ersatz and definitely overcrowded. A walk around the ruins of the old town is inspirational - perhaps one day they will be fully excavated. We stumbled into Borgo Alveria on... More

This beautiful place has been renovated in style. The owners and staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. Four couples that stayed 3 nights and loved it. The grounds are amazing and the place is quiet and so restful. The old village ruins are interesting and make for an enjoyable walk. The drive up to the Borgia is amazing... More

My husband and I have been spending holidays in Sicily for over 30 years and know the island very well. Yet we were pleasantly surprised during our short stay at Borgo Alveria. The romantic drive through olive groves and past the remains of the old Castle of Noto are only an 'antipasto' to the beauty of the hotel. It is... More

If you want to visit the province of Syracusa, Sicily and you're looking for a bed ... stop searching. This is a family owned charme hotel with a top cook in the kitchen. If you don't speak Italian, drink a bottle of their dilicious Nero d'Avola wines and start communicating. I stayed their for 10 days with my wife and... More

We stayed here for 4 nights last month and had a comfortable room, with good lighting, but no hooks!! Modern large good shower, strange basin that had a draining tray and no sink! Excellent food, with lovely breakfast by the large pool overlooking olive groves, very remote and quite rustic. Delicious suppers in the restaurant, superb cooking and good wine... More

I've just returned from a week in this amazing place, and I'm still missing it. The property itself offered all that I ask of a holiday venue - silence, cicadas, fresh air, good food, comfort, air-con. The room we had was of the middle category, with a huge bed, plenty of drawer and hanging space for clothes etc, a big... More

We have a small house near Noto and one of our favourite places to visit is the Borgo Alveria in Noto Antica. Noto Antica is in the hills above Noto, away from the crowds and also benefits from being cooler. The Borgo is breathtakingly beautiful, with some of it dating back to 1460. It has been restored faithfully with great... More

My husband and I visited Borgo as part of our honeymoon last year (August 2012), we have just joined Trip Advisor and wanted to make a few comments, but perhaps things have changed since then. The rooms and layout of the agriturismo are really nice, we had the superior room with the Japanese style bath, which was fabulous and cool,... More

The place is absolutely great. Quiet, beautiful, stylish. The rooms are impeccable and comfortable. Great pool. The only drawback was an average dinner, totally overpriced. Spaghetti were undercooked and the vongole could be counted on the fingers of one hand. 15 euros for a dish that costs 5 to 8 in any trattoria in the region. Desert was simply not... More

Amazing experience. Very well decorated and renovated houses. All the best facilities you could imagine and the location to dream off. Restaurant for dinner was great. Service during breakfast could be better, most things were finished and not replaced when we arrived around 10am. After asking for replacements, all the things came out. Will definitely go back!
