My family and I recently visited the Cinque Terre area and after driving to Monterosso al Mare, we decided to avoid the crowds and look elsewhere for a place to stay. We had seen a sign along the road for La Meridiana B&B. There were 6 of us and we had no reservations. When I called to find out availability,... More

This hotel is in a very "off the beaten path" location and the mountain roads leading to it are not for the faint-of-heart. That said - the hosts are very cordial and make you feel super welcome. The breakfast is awesome too. If you don't mind (or actually desire) the remote location then this is a great value for you.... More

Clean and spacious rooms in a 1824 beautifully restored house. Over sized breakfast with local ham and cheese, fresh bread and focaccia, and (5 different) homemade cakes. The friendly and helpful Edda and Ubaldo will tell you everything about walks, trains, ferry, restaurants and anything else you want to know about the area. 10 km away from Monterosso - you... More

There are some trips that will stay with you for as long as you live. My recent jaunt to Cinque Terre is one of them. The five towns themselves are stunning, but it was my stay at La Meridiana that made the trip. A rustic B&B brimming with character, it was exactly what the doctor ordered. I'd just come from... We had the hotel almost to ourselves during the off season and arrived just after a village festival. The owners were absolutely delightful with the lady offering great tips on Cinque Terre including timings and closings of the paths as well as a recommendation for a Pizzeria. Definitely check out Carpe Diem in the Pignone, the next village over. The... More

We stayed for 2 nights to visit the Cinque Terre. The B&B is 15 minutes away by car from Monterosso where you can leave your car and visit the Cinque Terre either by foot or with the train. We arrived a bit late in the evening and the owners welcomed us with drinks and stayed with us to explain the... More

We recently stayed in the La Meridiana to visit Cinque Terre. I booked this accommodation based on the excellent reviews on here and didn't really look too much in to the location. The night before I realised it was quite a bit away from the actual Cinque Terre villages (no fault but my own) and getting a bit frazzled at... More

We stayed there for one night while visiting Cinque Terre. The village is tiny, there are only a few houses and a church (of course!), and one restaurant. There a few empty buildings as the area was flooded in 2011 and you can still see and smell the mould on some of the walls. The village is still very cute... More

If you want something different, out of nowhere (in a great way) , this is perfect. What a great place! And what a great couple of hosts! Rooms are pretty and comfy. Breakfast is very good. Location: I can't find the words to describe it. You need to see it!

We had a lovely stay at La Meridiana. The inn is immaculate, comfortable and lovingly maintained by a kind couple (Edda and Ubaldo). Ubaldo offered many excellent recommendations for navigating the Cinque Terre and he patiently answered all of our questions. Perhaps it helped that I spoke and could understand Italian, but even if that had not been the case... More
