We stayed 2 nights at the hotel and also had dinner at the restaurant. We had a Junior Suite with King bed and small sitting area with a soft and table/chairs. The room was very clean and while not huge, was still fairly spacious. The bed was quite comfy. The room was quiet. The price was very reasonable, so this... More

good and oldstyle looking hotel right into the center of Rubiera. Rooms are clean, quite and furnished as three star hotel. I slept only saturday night but not enjoyed of restaurant that is well known about Cappelletti. Next time I'll try! Breakfast is ordinary for a three star hotel but enough and in a charming room

We stayed 4 nights in total at the Aquila d'Oro in late May and early June 2013 - 2 nights en route to Firenze, and 2 nights on our way to the Trentino region. The family-run hotel is charming and comfortably furnished in the Emilian tradition, with cool, terracotta tiles on the floors and vintage collectables. The staff are all... More

Just outside Reggio Emilia, the hotel is located in an oldish building, perfectly renovated "in style". Every area looks and smells spotlessly clean. The smell reminded me of wood polished with wax. We booked a small "suite", which was a generous size, inclusive of a comfortable sitting area, with double sofa. The bed was comfortable and there was enough storage... More

What a surprise this hotel was ,as we only booked it as a stop over on our way to the Amalfi coast. Had we known what a gem of a hotel this was, we would have stayed extra nights, especially as there was a huge outdoor market on the Saturday in this town of Rubiera. The hotel is family owned... Stayed here for one night only. The hotel is quite charming, furnished with beautiful antiques and wonderfully decorated. Definitely characteristic and unique. Staff was helpful and polite. The room (a double) was a bit small and overlooked a tiny courtyard so did feel a bit cramped. The breakfast selection was very limited. Did not try the restaurant for dinner as... More

We have been there only for one night. Although Rubiere is a small town, if you have chance to go Modena or Emilia Romagna, I strongly suggest this hotel. Hotel rooms are very cute and decorated with antiques in addition, hotel has a wonderful restaurant with a michelin, and stuff was really nice.

My husband and I stayed here during our trip thru Northern Italy. We just stumbled onto it and what a pleasant surprise it was. The staff were soooo helpful and accommodating. They went above and beyond to ensure that our stay was a good one, and it assuredly was. Some of the throw rugs throughout the hotel might be a... More

I stayed here while on a business trip in the area. A very warm welcome from the hosts who were always happy to help. My single room was small but perfectly formed (while the antique furniture wasn't to my taste it did add character). The free WiFi was also a godsend on a business trip, so was well appreciated. Then... More

Beautiful hotel with great atmosphere and Italian style. I liked also this small town Rubiera and its cathedral. Of course, the restaurant is great. The room was very comfortable. The breakfast is good, the location is very close to railway station - 500 meters I think. The only annoying thing was the very complicated Wi-Fi connection, which somehow worked only... More
