ok, I always consult Tripadvisor before booking ..... except this time ! So on our way to the Ashley I had a look... not good so was anticipating a very disappointing overnight stay . My own opinion differs from some others previous written ... Firstly we booked for an overnighter only after travelling up from Sicily, we wanted to be... More

A very strange hotel with a weird vibe. While we had a good first impression due to the hotel being relatively newly constructed and the rooms being well furnished, that was the extent of any positives we experienced while staying at this hotel Reception we received was anything but welcoming. No hello. No smile. No welcome. Extremely unfriendly. The hotel... More

This is the strangest Hotel I ever experianced The Hotel itself is a nice building, however in a place extremely difficult to find. First impression from the outside is rather good. However to step inside you have to take care of your luggage yourself and at the reception desk they look at you like an alien. Extremely unfriendly and you... More

I should have paid closer attention to the reviews on Hotel Ashley, especially the last two, but I was just looking for a place to sleep and eat along the route to our final destination in Sicily.... We spent a weekend at the Ashley hotel to get a bit of sunshine and explore the Calabria region. So first, the pros: * Really nice hotel, very nice lobby, pool area and spacious rooms * 5 minute walk to the beach, which was surprisingly nice * Really close to the airport, 15 euro cab ride (nothing else around though)... First, no porter for baggage from car after long drive. No parking signage or guidance. The hotel is located in a dumpy, maze-like area disconnected from all of the surrounding community. Ocean view? Maybe with binoculars. The decor was tacky, sepulchral, with a lack of any genuineness at all. After we were checked in and shown to our room by... More
