We stayed here as a family in two connecting rooms while visiting Sparta and Mystras. It is a basic hotel which meets the needs of an undemanding traveler. To be fair, it is an area that does not attract the large crowds of other parts of the Peloponnese and many visitors apparently make Mystras a day stop. I think it... More

choose this hotel because of location, reviews and pool. Friendly owner/staff. nice view on mystras from our balcony. However, very uncomfortable bed/matrass. Airco on our room didn't work, so it stayed 25 degrees C, unless we opened the balcony doors in the midle of the night. Pool was very dirty, many many many leaves and bugs, decided it to clean... We stayed here for just one night on a tour of the Peloponnese. It is very conveniently situated in Mystras with several restaurants just over the road. Our room was comfortable, very clean and with a good shower room. We were unlucky because the night we stayed there was a school party who returned to the hotel at about one... More

If you enjoy walking, or just a casual stroll then this is the place for you! Kostas and Garifalia at the Byzantion Hotel in Mystras make you so welcome. Nothing is too much trouble, and if you need to know where to eat they will help you. The hotel is perfectly placed in the heart of Mystras, the breakfast is... More

We received a very warm welcome at Hotel Byzantion. The hotel is not particularly sumptuous but is more than adequate and very comfortable for a night's stay. It is especially convenient for exploring the remarkable archaeological site of ancient Mystras a short distance away. Our room was pleasant with a good shower, TV, mini bar and Wi-Fi. From the balcony... More

This is not an expensive place, but has a lot of merit. Friendly staff, quite adequate room for an overnight stop, decent breakfast. There is a risk of noise problems as others have found but its mostly a quiet village. There is a pool and easy car parking. Rooms seem to have been recently renovated.

This is a really tough one to judge, and one of those "I wish I could give half scores" moments. I'll go with 4, as I think 3 is unduly harsh, but read this as a 3 and a half... This was our first stop on a tour of the Peloponnese, and a lovely introduction to Greek hospitality, with a... More

Our room on the second floor was basic but adequate with a small balcony overlooking the town and old Mystras (World Heritage Site) up on the hill. We didn't get a great nights sleep either night we were there due to the barking dogs which seem to plague the village (not the hotel's fault). As with everywhere we stayed in... More

I was pleasantly surprised to find such a fine lodging accommodation in this part of the world. Very modern facility and a very professional and courteous staff. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who plans to visit Mystra

The Byzantion is a decent hotel: nothing fancy, but the rooms are fine and the continental breakfast adequate. The mattresses are firm, but that seemed to be the case as well in other Greek hotels we visited. Great location, and helpful stuff. Plus the view of Mystras castle and village is fantastic.
