So many modern hotels have a very "samey" room layout - 2.2m high basic rectangles, usually cleverly shoehorned together to maximise the revenue per square meter of ground-space, and with a corner taken out for the en suite. The Schloss at Westernholt was a pleasant change to this. I was left wondering what it had been in its former life.... More

probably in spring-summer-autumn this schloss converted into a golf hotel is very nice, but in winter it is empty and desolated, even the restaurant is closed. the room was quite ok and we have some restaurants 5 minutes walk from the hotel, but the overall impression was strange (especially taking into consideration we didn't see any other guest)

I had a great stay in Hotel Schloss Westerholt during my business trip. Large room and bathroom, I love relaxing in the bathtub. Clean, quiet, just two steps away from the city centre. Rates reasonable for the quality offered. Recommended.

Location was convenient for us. It is an old castle but the inside does not feel that way. The long hallways look old and smell musty, the rooms are clean and nice. It was a convenient and reasonable price for us

We just left Schlosshotel Westerholt after a fantastic 2 night stay. The hotel is a country house with a moat next to beautiful Westerholt village. It is set amongst mature trees, a lake and a nice golf course. Our group of 52 was efficiently checked in and warmly welcomed. The rooms are all a very good size and simply but... More

Stayed there for a wedding celebration that took place at a near-by location. We enjoyed staying a Schloss Westerholt a great deal. Parking is excellent, there are marvellous food options nearby (we did not try the hotel restaurant, for it is a bit pricey), the breakfast was excellent. There is just one caveat: Our room, though excellent in itself, was... More

Naturally the hotel comes across with a lot of historic charm, however also quite functional as a business hotel. The rooms are nicely decorated and clean, good Internet reception, the service very friendly, close to family style. Also recommendable for a weekend in order to explore the historic old area, enjoy a round of golf next door and visit some... More

A asked for a for a quiet room and that is what I got. Location was very nice in a park like setting with a real moat around the castle. The rooms are huge, but a bit dated. I thought it suited the castle feel, but some might not like it. However, some rooms I passed seemed more modern, but... More

Interesting hotel but does not have a lift and the light bulbs are only 12 watts - take your own with you. Rooms are massive if dated - it was built a long time ago. We had superb steak in the restaurant. Staff were superb. Only CNN in English but free Wifi

Friendly greeting even though it was very late on a Sunday evening. Brilliant room with very high ceilings. At first sight, the shower didn't look that good, but step insdide and switch on - WOW. All showers should be like this.
