This was our first time to this area of Germany, and I have to say it is beautiful. We rode from Prague on a Harley through the mountains and it was a spectacular ride. Bayrischzell is a small town, great for hiking off into the mountains and skiing. We stayed two nights at the Alpenrose. One night on the way... More

I love the quaint little Bavarian town of Bayrischzell. While visiting my family my son, my daughter and I made reservations at this hotel to spend one night to experience real Bavarian charm at the special request of my mother. The very next day my mother went into a coma and we had to stay by her side. We called... More

Dear Marion, your experience sounds aweful, we completely understand your response! Bayrischzell is a small jewel and that is exactly what we plan to do the Alpenrose. We took over the hotel in February 2014 and have been renovating ever since then. And one thing for sure - we always have an open ear for the concerns of our guests!... More

Very mixed experience. The published pictures are slightly deceptive, the hotel is located adjanct to a much-used country road - thus noisy. They first tried to fob me of with a room towards the road - was dark and noisy. The second attempt "we have four noisy rooms and when the place is full..." (it wasn't) I ended up with... More

Stayed here during the Sudelfeld World Cup snowboard race on Jan. 28. Absolutely lovely place with friendly and helpful proprietors. We rented the triple room and it's huge. Location is perfect in the middle of town. The bedding comfortable and rooms spotless. Breakfast was generous and delicious. Great value.

Happened upon this beautiful little town and hotel while wander-touring through Europe. The proprietor was very pleasant and accommodating. He directed us to places for ski and equipment rentals and the place for the local shuttle to the ski area. The room was basic but clean and warm. The food was good. Only downside was the internet was spotty. Will... More

Stayed for one night - very pretty town and hotel from the outside. Clean rooms but extremely basic - a TV so old that it should be in a museum, duvet cover that doesn't at all cover the whole bed, old decor, no shampoo in the bathroom. Fairly decent breakfast was included. Service at reception was rubbish to say the... More

We spent two nights here in August 2010 to attend a wedding in Bayrischzell. The Alpenrose was the right place for us to stay. The room was clean and comfortable. We had a large room on the ground floor. The room had two twin beds pushed together to make one large bed, and a fold-down couch/day bed that our daughter... More

We did not stay here but we stopped her twice during our holiday after day hikes to get a coffee/tea and something to eat. We experienced very good service and hospitality. Our afternoon tea with Apfelstuddel was delicious and hit the spot after an energetic day on the mountains. It was coveniently situated near the station.

Quiet hotel located just past end of railroad tracks (50 m). I could not hear trains at all. Very clean. Hotel & restaurant staff very friendly although only a few speak much English. Food in restaurant better than average. Breakfast selection average. Small bathroom -typical of small European hotels. No hair dryer, shampoo, lotion, room safe. Individual heating (radiator). Did...
