We were not at Les Houche for the skiing. We stopped at the Hotel du Bois on the day before we started our Tour du Mont Blanc walking holiday. There was an extremely friendly welcome from English-speaking Nathalie. She was uncommonly helpful in finding out the weather and in giving helpful tips. This was particularly useful as there was rain,... More

The room is a bit worn out, but still clean and comfortable. We have a balcony connected to a terrace with beautiful views of mountains. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The owner (I guess) Stefan and his wife were very cheerful and funny. If you can't find the fridge, it's in the wardrobe. Actually the heat from the... More

Hotel has fantastic views, and a great location in the centre of the village. Staff were very helpful. Rooms were reasonably sized, spotlessly clean and very homely/cute. We had a great patio area outside our room leading into a beautiful garden. Other rooms had balconies overlooking the garden. Had breakfast and dinner here, both were fine. Very happy with it.

Lovely location! If you get the Mont Blanc side rooms they offer stunning views and there's also a balcony that you can sit and admire the beautiful mountains. The hotel is in a village called Les Houches which is very quiet and ideal away from the hustle and bustle in Chamonix. There is a bus service though. The breakfast had... More

Towards the end of June and early July of 2015, I hiked the Tour du Mont Blanc with a group of 12 other hikers. The outfitter was HF Holidays.  I had traveled with them before, hiking England Coast to Coast, and the West Highland Way (Scotland).  Those experiences were outstanding.  I was looking for another multi day strenuous hike.  The... Stayed here overnight en-route to a holiday in Italy. A lovely little family run hotel, for ehom nothing is too much trouble - I'd emailed beforehand in desperation that they would be abke to show the rugby semifinal match - on arrival it turned out that they'd organised it to be shown for us at the local bar - great... Clean, warm, easy walking distance to nice restaurants and bars, pool was good with saunas. Hotel bar is reasonably priced and wifi was good strength. Would definetely recommend. Great base... More

I only booked last minute with average expectations of 3 star French fare but was delighted to find this gem of an English/American family run hotel offering 5 star levels of service. Breakfasts are all you can eat, cereals / toast with eggs, cheese and ham washed down with plenty of delicious coffee. The perfect fuel for a long days... More

What a great place this is for a ski stay. I came with my pal for a weekends skiing - the owner is a top guy..... He is all about the customer service!. He made sure we were well looked after, got us to the slopes on time every morning and even made sure that the 6nations rugby was set... More
