Spent a weekend at "Le Relais Margaux" This is a nice hotel, part of it is new, we stayed in the new part. The room was a nice size, the bathroom was nice also. In France, there are not much places like Relais Margaux. The front of house staff were welcoming , but there the luxury ended. The hotel is an unashamed money making venture, The room was in serious need of a makeover, and the restaurant was poorly run and had even run out of Margaux wines! We had a wonderful stay here after "trying" to stay in the centre of Bordeaux! Having spent 1 night in that awful place we desperately looked to check in elsewhere, Relais de Margaux was the best decision we ever made! This is not at all a "small luxury hotel" of the world!!! You have dirty rooms the staff is not friendly the property needs a lot of attention the house a lot of paint the rooms some new furniture and YES the food at the restaurant is great the wine list is outstanding But you are in Bordeaux who wounders... more
