As think it's as good as it gets in term of rooms around this place. We were there at a time when no activity is available. The good thing is that nobody else was there at the time. We could see the local life going without interference.

The staff was very nice, but rarely around. The room was beautiful but dirty. The pool area was picturesque but the pool was also dirty and cloudy. There were two of us, and one towel. The room was swarming with ants (ok) and cockroaches (not ok). The food was great! They could easily turn it around and I hope they... More

Prior reviews on TripAdvisor had me worried about staying at Los Cobanos Village Lodge. HOWEVER, it was wonderful and fit my needs perfectly. I also stayed in the second floor room without a/c. We had a nice breeze from the ocean, which is within pebble throwing distance and also had two overhead fans in the room (one located above the... More

We (couple, 40 & 50 years old) stayed at Los Cabanos Village Lodge in December 2013 for one night. Our second floor room was inexpensive, clean and spacious but worn and old. The sheets were thin and the furnishings were old. The private bathroom was spacious. There was no hot water, but cool showers were preferred. We chose a room... More

The webpages look good but, as I found out first hand, the pictures are not the truth. Finally found the place down an unlit and unmade road, almost missed it behind the 8 foot, broken glass topped wall and giant steel doors. Room was basic and the AC unit didn't work after 2 hours. I shared the room with frogs,... More

First, I will echo what a fellow traveler said about Los Cobanos--You should not travel here if you do not have a basic command of Spanish. That being said, Los Cobanos is a beautiful village with friendly, humble people. The area is part of a protected wildlife refuge and you can go on guided snorkeling/scuba trips or see baby turtles.... More

We visited family in San Salvador and decided to take everyone for a mini vacation the weekend we arrived. Accomodating 16 people is not always easy but we were given 5 rooms and my first impression was "I am truly on vacation". I would describe the compound setting as upscale-high-end Gillian's Island with the thatched roofs on the cottages and... More

First let me start off by addressing some of the other reviews in here. If you have never been to Central America before, and speak no Spanish, this is NOT the place for you. I find it to be quite arrogant that people admonish the locals for not speaking a foreign tongue. You are in their country. Learn some basic... More

We had the chance to spend a nice and quiet weekend over there. The staff really attended us very well and the food was perfect. The place had just re open from recent renovation and provide us all we needed for a nice and romantic weekend. We did really enjoy the walk on the beach and to help releasing some... More

We went there last year, and were lucky enough to be the only guests, which was great since the place is quite small. The room we got was nicely decorated and had a cute balcony to lounge in. We really didn't like the fact that the hotel sits in the middle of a fisherman town. I know some people find... More
