We stayed one night in room 207 and booked the hotel due to what was available in the area which was limited being a Saturday night and a last minute booking. For 7,000 Yen (c.£40), you get what you pay for so we cannot complain. It really is a basic hotel and not really a place for us. The room... More

Unless you are told to take a taxi. We ventured by foot up the stairs to this lovely hotel, which is a mistake in the middle of summer. However, once we arrived (dripping in sweat and out of breath)- it was all worth it. The view is superb and certainly worth it. Just make sure to take a taxi there,... More

Although the hotel may be a bit dated, its location on the hill with a view of Onomichi bay is awesome. The Thai restaurant in the hotel serves great food and provides a panoramic, night view of the bay. The cook went to great lengths to make a vegetarian dish which she enjoyed very much!

We arrived at the train station after dark and not knowing which way to turn, we hailed a taxi to find our hotel which was a very good idea! After a winding ride on narrow streets--which, by the way, were 2-way traffic, we arrived at the top of the cliff to an inviting lobby--with the only negative of the strong... More

Onomichi is a very nice city with a lot to see (temples walk) and a good base to visit the area. The hotel has a fantastic view and the room is quite large ( for Japanese standards). The real problem is that it is located uphill and you have to climb a very steep flight of stairs to reach it. Absolutely... More

This is our 5th night in Japan and our first and only night in Onomichi. We checked in and the staff was very sweet and helpful. Our room seemed quite clean and standard for Japanese rooms with a terrific view, however, around 10pm a cockroach scurried across the floor, which freaked us both out. We captured it under the trash... More

We stayed two nights at this hotel and found it very comfortable. It is not smart or modern, but our room was spacious and clean and the views are spectacular. Even though the hotel is close to Onomichi Station, it would be difficult to walk there with luggage because of the extreme steepness of the hill so a taxi is... More

scenic view to the port, bridge and the city, very nice clever personnel, very close to the amazing park and the Observatory, I do recommend the port Onomichi for Seto Inland Sea and the Innoshima Island for your adventures over south Japan!

We selected this hotel because it sounded interesting. Located way up on the hill next to the castle and looking down over Onomichi. And owned by an ex Thai kick-boxer who cooked up Thai food in the restaurant. We arrived late and it was a tortuous cab ride but only around Y1,000 from the Shin-Onomichi shinkansen station. The foyer was... More

I booked this hotel through a Japanese hotel reservation service. This hotel sits on a hillside overlooking the harbor town, and is a hard uphill walk (or easy taxi ride) from the train station. There is a very good and relatively inexpensive Thai restaurant located in the hotel. The views from the hotel are incredible, and the town is a... More
