Just returned from 3 nights at Punta Faro, and would definitely recommend making a stop here on your Colombian trip. Most of the reviews are spot on, it's remote, no hot water, but beautiful and peaceful. Read up to manage your expectations and you won't be disappointed! Our observations: *boat ride was 2 hours. Depending on number of guests, it's... More

The island is 4 star. The resort is 3 star. The room was 2 star. I would never use the word luxury to describe this place. The staff was super friendly. Huge language barrier. Only 1 staff member spoke Spanglish and gave us misinformation. He was adorable but walked away when he couldn't answer our questions. It was hilarious. Totally... More

Stayed only one night due to our trip itinerary. Boy did I make a mistake! We desperately wanted to stay longer! The boat ride is pleasant and really pretty.. Did not seem like 2 hours at all. When you arrive you receive a coconut! Nothing beats fresh coconut water on a tropical island paradise! The food is good, not gourmet... More

Traveled with a group of 6 to this wonderful island retreat. I used Booking.com to book the reservation and had no problem. What a great experience. Getting to the hotel: If you are in Cartagena, take a taxi to the "Hotel Regatta" in Boca Grande and take the stairs to the second floor where Punta Faro has an office. Make... More

We spent just under one week on this gem of an island just two hours (by boat) off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we booked this "Eco" resort. Despite some of the modern conveniences we've come to expect in most hotels and resorts around the world that were lacking here, it... More

This hotel is located on a beautiful island two hours by boat from Cartagena. The whole island is part of the hotel and you have an all included arrangement including with the boat transportation. Food is delicious and very we'll prepared. Everything you find around will make you enjoy your stay. Service is so good! I forgot some clothes at... More

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Punta Faro. We can break it down as follows: Pros: beautiful island, great excursions, hospitality is top-notch, television, beautiful sea-views in some rooms, good food, happy hour, lots of places to just relax! Saw wildlife (iguanas, beautiful birds, fish, etc...) beds were SO comfortable! Cons: a/c in our room was not cool... More

What a great experience! Actually we wen in January, 2007. We spent 4 nights sunning, scuba, and enjoying our time with great friends. The owner is a friend of one of our companions and we were there during the College Football championship game. He set it up on a projection screen for us to watch! The food was always fresh... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in May and it was the highlight of our trip. Cartagena was so hot and humid that it was hard to walk around. Perfect weather for being lazy on the beach and yes, we did that. Getting here: I figured out how to get here by reading the reviews on TA as the info... More

at $550 per night for two persons (two nights, incl transport), i thought this was a terribly overpriced summer camp experience on a beautiful island with a very friendly and helpful staff and average food. punta faro is a remote island resort with limited infrastructure, a beautiful beach and setting, and friendly staff. for $550 per night (2 nights, incl...
