Superb hotel, lush gardens, good restaurant, smiling and helpful personnel, great accomodations (room 43). Small private beach, caribean stereotype: white sand, crystal-clear and hot water, reefs. Snorkeling, kayaking, scuba diving. Very quiet, absolutely not overcrowded. A place to forget this mad world. Not cheap, but compatible with its high standard. Hotel provides transportation from/to Cartagena (boat, 2 hours, nice ride).

Gorgeous location and very friendly staff. But for that $ they should consider including the kayaks, SUPs, etc in the price. They charge for everything but food and non-alcoholic beverages...including the boat ride to get there. Pleasant enough but poor value compared to the rest of Colombia and the rest of the Caribbean.

We booked this hotel because we wanted a somewhat remote place, with crystal clear warm waters, white sand beach and a romantic and relaxing environment.... and in Punta Faro WE FOUND IT ALL AND MORE!! I want to begin by explaining that we were planning to get to the hotel as soon as we stepped foot on Cartagena soil at... More

We spent two nights here with our two kids and both of my kids described this place as paradise! From the minute we arrived by boat, we felt welcome and relaxed. The food was good, the property is beautiful and the staff are kind and accommodating. The daily happy hour with half-priced drinks was much appreciated by me and my... More

We stayed at Punta Faro for three nights during a trip to Colombia this past April and were extremely happy with our stay. The island is small but pleasant and remote enough, especially in the evenings, to make your stay feel special. The staff was incredibly hospitable and the meals served were very good. We lucked out during our stay... More

Where to start... We had such an amazing experience in Punta Faro. After a lot of travelling around South America we were looking for a relaxing, beautiful place to finish our trip, to recharge our batteries before heading back to our busy lives and I am so happy we found this place. We were going to stay here for 2... More

We went to Punta Faro for two nights in 2014, loved it and returned for three nights in March, 2015. And three nights proved to be so much better. It's a great place if you know what to expect: two hour boat ride; no hot water, zero night life, all the things you've read here. But the upside trumps all... More

The sea is wonderful but the beach is small. The food is very good and various and during the day is possible to order some drinks and fresh pineapple and coconuts. There are several activities to do like kayaking snorkelling… (from 5 p.m. to 7p.m. there is the happy hour and everything is half price!). Anyway being a 4 star... More

Punta Faro is very good at doing what it offers ... A relaxing experience in pleasant and remote surroundings, which are well maintained. My partner and I stayed four nights. I can't comment on price as it was part of our package holiday. Food is unexceptional but hygienically prepared and varied. We were pleasantly surprised that the hotel made an... More

Very convoluted process to get there, but once you figure it out, well worth the experience. Book your stay at Punta Faro's office on the second floor of the Hotel Almirante in Bocagrande, on Avenida San Martín # 6-5 (tall yellow hotel overlooking the beach). We spoke with Luz and she was very kind. Meet back at the hotel at... More
