We spent just under one week on this gem of an island just two hours (by boat) off the coast of Cartagena, Colombia. We knew what we were getting ourselves into when we booked this "Eco" resort. Despite some of the modern conveniences we've come to expect in most hotels and resorts around the world that were lacking here, it... More

This hotel is located on a beautiful island two hours by boat from Cartagena. The whole island is part of the hotel and you have an all included arrangement including with the boat transportation. Food is delicious and very we'll prepared. Everything you find around will make you enjoy your stay. Service is so good! I forgot some clothes at... More

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Punta Faro. We can break it down as follows: Pros: beautiful island, great excursions, hospitality is top-notch, television, beautiful sea-views in some rooms, good food, happy hour, lots of places to just relax! Saw wildlife (iguanas, beautiful birds, fish, etc...) beds were SO comfortable! Cons: a/c in our room was not cool... More

What a great experience! Actually we wen in January, 2007. We spent 4 nights sunning, scuba, and enjoying our time with great friends. The owner is a friend of one of our companions and we were there during the College Football championship game. He set it up on a projection screen for us to watch! The food was always fresh... More

We stayed here for 4 nights in May and it was the highlight of our trip. Cartagena was so hot and humid that it was hard to walk around. Perfect weather for being lazy on the beach and yes, we did that. Getting here: I figured out how to get here by reading the reviews on TA as the info... More

at $550 per night for two persons (two nights, incl transport), i thought this was a terribly overpriced summer camp experience on a beautiful island with a very friendly and helpful staff and average food. punta faro is a remote island resort with limited infrastructure, a beautiful beach and setting, and friendly staff. for $550 per night (2 nights, incl... I recently spent 2 fantastic nights at Punta Faro, and could not have been happier with the hotel, it's location or the service I received. The hotel's boat was prompt in collecting us in Cartagena and the 1 hr 40 min trip to the hotel was calm and relaxed. Upon arrival we were greeted with a coconut to drink from... More

Punta Faro was an extraordinary experience. A tropical paradise run by kind and considerate people lead you to amazing experiences or just time to relax and soak up sun at the beautiful beach. The food was terrific and servers attentive. They move dinner each evening to a different location. This is a first class operation and the employees, mostly local... More

Two hours by boat from Cartagena, Punta Faro delivers a beautiful contrast to the faster paced city you just left. As soon as you arrive, lunch is waiting. All meals are buffet and oddly dinner is the most boring. But the food is fresh, tasty and they have a decent wine list considering dry land is two hours away. The... More

The true in and outs of Punta Faro Yes! it’s a 2hour boar ride, bring a tablet bc its definitely not a yacht and there is no bathrooms. As you’ve read in other post, they greet you w coconut drink and followed by a quick briefing than eventually lead you to the lunch buffet. The buffet is small, don’t think... More
