Punta Faro was an extraordinary experience. A tropical paradise run by kind and considerate people lead you to amazing experiences or just time to relax and soak up sun at the beautiful beach. The food was terrific and servers attentive. They move dinner each evening to a different location. This is a first class operation and the employees, mostly local... More

Two hours by boat from Cartagena, Punta Faro delivers a beautiful contrast to the faster paced city you just left. As soon as you arrive, lunch is waiting. All meals are buffet and oddly dinner is the most boring. But the food is fresh, tasty and they have a decent wine list considering dry land is two hours away. The... More

The true in and outs of Punta Faro Yes! it’s a 2hour boar ride, bring a tablet bc its definitely not a yacht and there is no bathrooms. As you’ve read in other post, they greet you w coconut drink and followed by a quick briefing than eventually lead you to the lunch buffet. The buffet is small, don’t think... More

Before you go to punta faro, know the following: The boat ride is ~2 hours on a speed boat - no food or bathroom - they do pass out water an hour into the ride The outdoor showers in your room have cool water but when it's 85 degrees does it really matter? The buffet food is awesome and free,... More

We came Punta Faro by accident (after the hotel we were supposed to go to on the island of Providencia - the Deep Blue - cancelled our reservation one day before our arrrival (!)). On the way there, we told our story to the travel agent (now a good friend) from Bogota who was on the boat with us, and... More

After staying 4 nights in Cartagena we spent 2 nights at Punta Faro to relax on this tropical paradise on Isla Mucura. As the hotel is quite small and you have to go there by boat on a 2 hour journey you already now most of the other guests within a couple of hours. The hotel rooms are not the... More

As others have pointed out, the island itself and the beach are beautiful. The rooms in the hotel vary; our ocean view room was great; our kids' garden view room was fine for them, but had a dormatory feel to it. The biggest issue with the place is that they nickel and dime you for everything-- there is a refridgerator... More

As many of the other reviews have already said this place is paradise. The service is amazing, the staff seems to anticipate your every need. They are also trying to be as ecological as they can with programs teaching the local children about protecting their environment. The only quibble is the food, while plentiful and fresh you aren't coming for... More

At the end of our trip around Colombia, we spent 3 nights at Punta Faro, on Isla Mucura. It was the peak of our trip. The island is quiet and very well preserved, the staff at Punta Faro very friendly, and there is plenty of stuff to do, in case you don't want to spend the whole day on the... More

Truly paradise island in Colombia!! A place you probably don't expect to find anymore these days . All local people are very friendly and nice. Food is natural and fresh with seafood and other stuff very well presented. If you are looking for paradise ...... this is surely a first stop in the process!
