Hallbarns was the second overnight stop on our Hadrians Wall walk adventure. The day was the worst for weather during the whole walk, we were running late, very wet and muddy from the days toil and it was apparent we were not going to make Hallbarns for the pre-booked 7pm evening meal. We telephoned Margaret who immediately said she could... More

We stayed with a group of friends including the groom's parents for a wedding occurring in the nearby locality. The accommodation and food were excellent and our hostess could not do enough to make our stay most comfortable and help with organising us around the occasion of the wedding. Margaret was lovely (as was her husband). The hotel itself is... More

We were made very welcome on arrival for our stopover, with a nice pot of tea served in china in the drawing room. Friendly hosts who went out of their way to make us feel at home and check we had everything we needed. Fresh milk in the room, more fresh milk in a small vacuum flask for the morning... More

The wonderful welcome from our hosts included picking us up from Chollerford which was very welcome after 17.5 miles walking and greeting us with tea and cake. The room was luxurious, the evening meal was superb and matched by the following mornings breakfast.

We booked a room as an overnight stay after walking around corbridge and the Roman fort that is there. Upon arrival at the B&B we were greeted by Margaret who was very warm and welcoming. She showed us to our room which was very spacious and clean with a very ample ensuite. Whilst we unpacked she prepared tea and cake... More

Not a bad stop if you are doing Hadrian's Wall westbound. It's only a mile from the wall but don't be fooled by taking the Green Carts road. Turn North at High Teppermoor and cut through the farms to save yourself a walk in the wrong direction in the morning. Warm, comfy and friendly. When dinner was cancelled the hosts... More

Perfect hosts, collecting and dropping us off at the wall and the pub for dinner. Welcomed with log fire, coffee and cake. Attractive room and breakfast as requested. Very friendly hosts, drying coats and boots overnight.

We spent a weekend here. The B+B is a farmhouse on a working farm. Rooms are large, clean and very comfortable. The host Margaret was very welcoming. When we arrived we were shown to the guest lounge where we sat in front of a roaring fire with tea and cake. Breakfast was lovely and set us up for each day.... More

This was one of a series of B and B's that we stayed in on our Hadrian's Wall walk and by far the worst experience. Although the rooms were clean and the food fine, the host, Margaret was so unpleasant, condescending and rude that we were relieved when it was time to leave.

Stayed here on a walking holiday. Excellently located on a working farm . Very large nicely decorated rooms. Pick ups and drop offs offered to Hadrian's wall (but it's actually a very pleasant mile or so walk to the wall). No choice evening meal offered but bring your own wine (we did as we knew in advance)
